You want heavy ? The Small Print, Psycho, The Handler, Reapers, Stockholm Syndrome, New Born, Assassin, Micro Cuts, Citizen Erased, Hyper Music, Dead Star, The Groove, Fury, Hysteria, Unnatural Selection, MK Ultra, Supermassive Black Hole, Map of the Problematique, Supremacy, Knights of Cydonia, Plug in Baby, Execution Commentary, Space Dementia, Survival. Most of them in live performances, cause Muse is better live. And as for my favorite Muse song, not the heaviest but still, with a great guitar riff, Glorious.

Whatever you get recommended, try and watch live versions. This possibly one the heaviest things they have recorded, but if anything it's more in line with what they are like live, which hasn't always been that well captured on studio recordings. The mixing on this is fantastic, even the snare is low end. Assassin (Live at the Mayan) is one of my favourites. Break It To me (Simulation Theory Film) Showbiz (Reading 2017)

See a lot reactors shocked by them bringing the heavy, but it's actually not new for them. Admittedly their new music has been a bit more experimental with digital sounds or rock opera feels. Funny enough, their radio singles were always my least favorite songs on the album but seem to be chosen because they appeal to more audiences. I always loved their classical styling over aggressive rock riffs/hooks.

Was never really crazy about Muse until last year when I checked out their discography beyond their radio singles and holy shit, I was blown away. Specifically with their orchestral rock material and just how epic they sound. It honestly is some of the most best cinematic rock music I have ever heard. Muse is that band whose singles do not justice for them.

I'm loving Muse's return to their roots with some harsh vocals, some sick overdriven gutiars and just fun to listen to, reminds me of Origin of Symmetry songs like hysteria, plug in baby, space dementia and meglomania. It seems most folk completely miss the relevance behind the lyrics. The track has another title; 'Living Vicariously', & may be better described by a phrase 'Psychological Warfare' - from the song itself. It's about a world-wide psychological battle between a few old men (dude in a wheel chair) & the mindless pawns (represented by those under his control). So the one singing the words is standing firm; outside the visuals - getting stronger by refusing to 'stand down', refusing to surrender to the systemic game of manipulation by the slave-master over the masses of hapless slaves. A great song with incredibly intelligent lyrics by a most relevant band indeed.

Muse has some reasonably heavy stuff and that's credit to their creativity and their experimentation. I wish I could direct you to a certain album, but their heavy songs are dispersed all over the place. A few of their heaviest songs are definitely Citizen Erased from Origin of Symmetry, Dead Star from the Dead Star EP, Stockholm Syndrome from Absolution, Assassin from Black Holes and Revelations and Reapers from Drones. To be honest, heavy or not, you really can't go wrong with their first 3 albums.
@AtomizedSound
@AtomizedSound 2 жыл бұрын
Muse is good at defying expectations musically without each album and song in the directions it can go in with the experimental sounds. This song is a great example of that. This is essentially the heaviest Muse song so far with the guitar effects and riffs along with the drums to a degree. Of course heavy is relative in music to a degree also, but I feel this song mixes their earlier sounds of Origin of Symmetry, hint of Absolution, but more Drones as it was a heavier sounding album to me and then the experimental electronic sounds of 2nd Law. I feel we are in for a treat with the rest of the album.

Muse became my favorite band about 5 years ago, I just randomly started listening to some of their greatest hits and the one thing I can say about being a new Muse fan, is that they have an expansive pallet of taste and style. Most people who don't dig a lot of their more experimental stuff most likely have a pretty shallow palette for music because Muse has never really changed. They have only tried anything and everything that they thought they wanted to do. And that's why I respect them because they do it all so well. I also think we need more rock bands with more uplifting or insightful lyrics. Everything is so dark now, it wears on you listening to dark shit Non-Stop. Long live MUSE!

His vocals are always hard he sings like Freddie Mercury because its mostly his vocal influence, both sing like opera singers, isolated vocals from both show this very clearly and the breathing he always needs to do that, everyone does if singing like that. Its the only way you will make it through that many words without running out of breath. Link to my video I will put in the reply to this comment. Muse is my favorite band of all time, and if i listen heavy music is thanks to them, is this moment i listen a lot to Gojira, Meshuggah and Opeth and all that thx to Muse

Muse being the original Muse 🤘🏻I became a fan about 20 years ago when they were heavier. Matt got me into playing guitar. Then they tried pop, and electro etc. You need to check out Matt's live guitar solos... It will blow your mind 💯🎸

I love MUSE. Probably my favorite band of all time. I love that they returned to a much more heavy sound (though their last few albums did have some songs like that). But, I can't help but think they keep trying to write songs to like sell to sports networks like Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco etc have done. Like that terrible Olympics song they tried to do. The lyrics are just so basic and shallow compared to their first few albums.

I dont listen to Muse but as soon as those vocals came in, I automatically saw why people were comparing Thornhill - Casanova to Muse along with Deftones

I swear these guys are prophets. The new album is about the western world being thrown into chaos including the potential for war in Europe, this song in particular is about standing up to bullies whether they be on the playground or your government or a bigger neighbour... the video for this very song was filmed somewhere extremely apt, Kyiv in Ukraine. And they aren't standing down to their bully :-)
