This clandestine documentary, shot partially on an iPhone and smuggled into France in a cake for a last-minute submission to Cannes, depicts the day-to-day life of acclaimed director Jafar Panahi (Offside, The Circle) during his house arrest in his Tehran apartment. While appealing his sentence - six years in prison and a 20 year ban from filmmaking - Panahi is seen talking to his family and lawyer on the phone, discussing his plight with Mirtahmasb and reflecting on the meaning of the art of filmmaking.

It's what movie-making is all about. It's what Digital Video is about. Filmmaking requires film. Two different skill sets.

"If we could tell a film, then why make a film?" Clearly, this individual has no idea what he is talking about. He is correct. It's not a film. A MOVIE is a film if FILM is used. Otherwise, it's a Movie, not a film. Filming is a process. Movies were called films because film was needed. 100 years went into the development of VIDEO, to the point we no longer need film. Digital Video and FIlming require two different skill sets.
