Just an FYI, Ensar Oud is Ensar Oud. He's here on KZfaq. With these houses, you try and buy during their holidays like Ramadan and the EID's. They run specails like we do at Christmas/Thanksgiving time. Also, the guy you picked up War&Peace from does splits of Ensar's work basically at cost. Ramsey, Ensar's inexpensive attars are very good. Doesn't cost much to sample either. Going to finish the video now. Just thought I would mention it.

I've come to realise that in perfumery, wonderful the art may be, it's also a language far removed from others.....I had similar the other day just like you did when your Wife said that you smell like an old leather chair and we think that's great what a fragrance! Similarly I was wearing Seville a l'aube L'-AP, after coming downstairs my Wife turned to me and asked what I was wearing as I smell like a wooden floor....I sniffed my arm and said yeah you're right it's great isn't it! 😆

What a grand parade of mossiness!! Who else could be the Grand Master of such a parade than our beloved Ramsey?! One other really neat thing about the Catalyst for Men line...the 50mL (I have a vintage) is in a straight test-tube, complete with silver holder! The 100mL (you have there) is in an Erlenmeyer flask, The after-shave lotion (splash) is in a rounded Florence flask and has bi-colored liquid that separates (orange and green) that you have to shake to mix before each use. Cool shit, huh? I love how the old Houses, perfumers and creative directors really went the whole nine yards. I also have Catalyst for women but it is in a bottle that echoes the flow of the fabric in a Halston evening gown. I know you say you don't like aquatics, but Unbound for Men has tomato leaves, black currant (and cassis as well; I believe) and spearmint, plus a whole bunch of other really neat notes (white violet, sage, birch, cardamom and OAKMOSS) you wouldn't think would smell aquatic/marine but they do and it is simply gaaaawjuuus!! smell swell & be well, fragrant f(r)iend! xox

Wow! I am almost embarrassed that I either still own or once owed not all but most of the fragrances you mentioned. I still have some of the old ones but also have many of the Rogue perfumes (six of them even though I liked all of them) Ramsey, another superior video that actually brought me back to those former days as I could still grasp the smells. Another fantastic and amazing video. I loved every moment of it!

Teatro Alla La Scala was one of my all time favorite fragrances of all time. I will be traveling to Milano in a little more than two weeks and am only spending time there for two nights but intend to see that opera house along with the amazing looking cathedral.

Hello Ramsey, another great video! Oak moss isn't a fragrance note I typically seek out, but don't mind it if I love a fragrance with it in the notes. It is in a lot of wonderful masculine fragrances though. You have some excellent examples and probably more than you could feature in your video. - Jenn

If you like Gucci Nobile than you will like Tsar but it might be redundant... if you want to step out and try something different my favorite VC&A fragrance is Van Cleef & Arpel Pour Homme... rose & castoreum & leather... beautiful 😊

Smalto is the bomb! It’s discontinued, I believe, and now costs a bundle. I used to get it for a song at discount stores. I got more compliments from women on this one by far.👍

Sometimes at night I’ll put oakmoss absolute at 10% on straight just to enjoy that beautiful note/material on its own. And guess what IFRA I’m fine. Great video I love oakmoss so much. There’s nothing like it, it’s one of the reasons so many vintage frags are so amazing.

I think what made my 80's Halston Z-14 so good was oakmoss. Sadly the current stuff is complete garbage. Is TF Cyprus close? Closest feels from my limited search is Varvatos Oud and maybe Spicebomb.

Never smelled TF Italian Cyprus but to me if you miss Z-14 but want a similar take on it hunt down a bottle of Valentino Vendetta Pour Homme (1991) ... italian style Z-14 with a dash of Bay Rum 👍

Halston was my signature for 20+ years, women loved it so much they would steal my shirts. Love your content and passion, just started bingeing on your older videos.

I was really underwhelmed with what I've smelled from Ensar Oud and Areej la dore. I do like Bortinkoff alot though. I understand some people love those fragrances but they just weren't for me. Henry Jacques is a house I highly recommend and I find their fragrances much better and much more appealing to my nose. If you're spending that kind of money on those houses I would strongly recommend Henry Jacques instead

Roi Sans it's probably my favorite fragrance in my 200 plus fragrance collection. Definitely very subjective though I agree with you. There's people who Rave about br540 and Santal 33😆

I dont think War & Peace resembles Djedi but I know Russian Adam ordered a decant or bottle of Djedi and while waiting for it to arrive created War & Peace... As far as Halston for Women no I have never smelled it.. maybe one day 🤷‍♂️🤞

Huge love ... and actually yesterday that vintage Vibe... I got from Civet de Nuit as well which was a collab Sultan Pasha did with Russian Adam... I wish I had 5 or 10 grand sitting around where I can just dive into the house of Ensar ... but the prices are just so prohibitive... at least for me ... for now... cant wait to smell his new sprayable perfume line he has been working on for years 👍

@@RamseytheRam every review I’ve seen of tigerlust has been raaaaves. Yeah I love Sultan and Areej, smelt lots of their work since I first sampled tigerlust. So maybe I’d appreciate tiger more if I smelt it now

@@RamseytheRam yeah my real favorites were all acquired tastes for me. The first chypre or cuir de Russie I smelt years ago I hated at first, now they’re my favorite categories. I must say though Despite numerous samples me and Tuscan leather still don’t get along… even after like 7 years, it’s that raspberry note… Edit: never did hate tiger, just remember it being a very natural smelling woody, earthy, lots of osmanthus, dirty musky base, peppery, but I was just kinda “meh”

It’s really just a pure herbal citrus oakmoss bomb. I got my hands on a vintage bottle a couple weeks ago and it really opened my eyes to what REAL, natural oakmoss is like vs. the re-engineered aroma chemical of today. Stunning.

Yeah they really cant re-create what real oakmoss does with a synthetic no matter what they say... the loss of real oakmkss in modern perfume is one lf the great missing puzzle pieces needed to bring modern perfume back to life. Unfortunately these giant oil houses are making so much money on sythetics they will not let go of control without someone wrestling power away them 🦸‍♂️

Absolute nightmare of a video... its just to long to go through each ones but fragrances like Aramis New West & the Rojas at the start of the video are current formulas I guess... most of the vintage stuff from back in the day you will be able to tell is vintage bottles 🤌🤌🤌
