@KarleyDanielle Ikr everyone has perpetually razzed me at the beach for not getting in the water. Pfft, salty water, assorted meats~ that's like a soup for something I'd care not to be an ingredient in. It's no coincidence that the New Earth that God is prophesied to create after this Earth( i.e. the reanimated abortion that is what the wretched god of this world tortures daily) is erased in the blink of His eye, the New Earth is covered with trees and there are no oceans. So the Orca were effing awesome in their epoch.

This is at Teahupoo in French Polynesia. Known as “End of the Road” which wasn’t widely surfed until the nineties. The bottom drops to more than 1,000 feet deep just 1/3 mile offshore, and more than one mile deep just three miles offshore. As a result, swells don't feel the ocean floor until they are about 1/2 mile from shore, allowing the open-ocean energy to march virtually unimpeded into the reef at Teahupoo.

@brendasnell509 Yes, indeed. Maui is splendid too. I was heartbroken when the wildfires led to tragedy, loss & devastation to West Maui. Maui & Oahu, have many fun places to visit, activities, & places where it's quiet, less crowded. If anyone tells me they are going to vacation in Hawaii, Oahu or Maui, I tell them to plan ahead via certain activities & sites. Some thgs require one to book ahead. Also, the coupon books for tourists are everywhere. These coupons can save visitors money & lead to other/new opportunities. Thank you for sharing. Aloha

I love deep sea fishing (1) 8-hour span at a time. Yes, I get seasick (I call it "chumbing" for fish), but I often win the cost of my ticket back with a good catch day. I got a 125# Amberjack (with crew's help, and a 28# pregnant shark last time out. The kids on board got to see neat science stuff, too: Flying fish, sea cows, merfolks, huge turtles, porpi, & sharks being live born; & all kinds of jellyfish, incl. living Portugese Man of War, which has deadly stinging tenticles!) But I have to admit If the weather is fair, I can float & sleep at same time without extra devise! I think I'm skinny til I get in salt water. (Fat floats!😂😂😂😂). Fishing, even off a dock, is my next to favorite thing to do. Horses are my lifelong passion, though I had to give them up after falling & fracturing my neck in 1964. Now, writing children's short stories & illustrating them is my passion. I'm pushing 80 & I want to leave my stories to my 11 great grand kids in a Trust they can share $USD from in years to come. We need to leave our stuff & stories behind for family.❤❤❤❤😅

I remember standing on the edge of the deck of an aircraft carrier in port. It is a long way down to the water. Then we went below and the XO shows us a panoramic picture taken on their last deployment. There is the same huge aircraft carrier at the bottom of a trough with water on four sides that is twice as high as the ship. Gives you a new level of respect for the sailors. The ocean is large and mighty.

So many people saying ‘never turn your back on the ocean’ as if it’s going to behave any differently when you are facing it. The assumption is that you would know what to do when you see a swell approaching and whether you have options - dash to shore, dash to sea, dive, ride … If your options are limited or you lack the skills or knowledge, it won’t matter whether your back is turned or you are staring into the mouth of the monster.

Lived on beaches for months and swam hours every day in places like south Florida which is infested with sharks, Cartegena Colombia, Cancun, Mexico, Thailand..... it's really not intimidating once you get used to it. It's a lot more intimidating to me to jump in a far and go driving on a busy fast moving interstate. It's all about perspective. Most stuff in life has some danger or risk attached to it though. Anyone you doesn't go swimming in the ocean some or at least just out onto a beach is missing out big time though imo.

In 1970 Santa Monica California I was 10 years old it was around midnight me and family members and friends were walking along the shore I felt a little bit behind everybody started digging in to the sand a big wave got me and drug me in I was spinning in circles being pulled in I I didn’t know what was up or down but somehow I felt my feet hit the sand so I started crawling like a crab and I was able to break the viselike grip of the water that was holding me down and eventually I crawled out of the water spitting out sand seaweed and salt water I don’t know how long I was under but I couldn’t see my family I only heard their faint voices Way far ahead of me I eventually caught up with them. It’s pretty frightening nobody knew that I was missing I believe if I didn’t survive they probably wouldn’t have noticed that I was gone until the next day because all the adults were drinking including my mother. Since then I’ve always had respect for the ocean and even though my kids can swim and my grandkids I don’t allow them to go anywhere beyond above their waist in the water. One thing I learned You don’t have time to be afraid when you’re fighting for your life

@@faithradaI’m not sure if I believe in past lives, but when I was a kid I always had dreams of living on a plantation, playing on the dock with two other small children. One was my brother and the other was a red haired girl, in an old fashioned white dress. She pushed me in the lake off the old dock we were standing on. The dreams were repetitive for years. I hated it. It seems like I sank to the bottom for hours and then when I finally hit the bottom my body would jolt me awake. My mother told me she used to have dreams of me drowning too.
@faithrada
@faithrada 7 ай бұрын
@cassandrastone7297 I think dreams CAN sometimes be very telling. Years ago I had this very detailed dream where my mom & I had taken a walk in the woods. We found a bench, sat down and started meditating. In our meditation we saw this person. Later that day I started telling her MY dream.. only to find out she had the SAME EXACT dream and saw the SAME person. Another time, mom touched an old wool tie that my dad had gotten as a present from a cousin that my mother had never met and did not know her name. In a dream that night she saw the tie and this cousin appeared & told mom her name. When she shared this with dad he confirmed that yes, that was his cousin who gave him the tie. So, yes... sometimes dreams are just dreams, while other times they are definitely conveying deeper messages . The Universe is always speaking to us... we just need to learn how to listen. PS: BTW... there are no coincidences. : )

I drowned 2 times before I was 10, and refused to swim until I was 15, then in order to conquer my fear of deep water, I taught myself how swim. 🏊🏻‍♀️ Myself and my kids are all expert swimmers 😊

When I was 12- my family and I were boating, off the coast of Cape Cod. On our way back in (we were out super far, couldn't see land), we dropped into a gulley of water....we literally "dropped down" DEEP, and then the ocean literally went over our boatI!!!! (I thought it was awesome, my Mom did not agree!!!) . Our boat was drenchrd, and stalled out, it took my Dad quite a while to get her started again!!! The worst part at THAT time was listening to my Mom yell at my Dad... LoL But, NOW, as an adult, I can see how bad this could have turned out.... Yikes... 😬😬😬😬😬😬
