Hey I’m seeing a bunch of people saying that you don’t have to pay for a subscription to play Vintage story solo and when you initially buy it for $20 you don’t need to re buy that the only thing you would have to repurchase is the multiplayer sever for $11 each month. And everyone one is definitely correct and honestly if anything that’s kinda nice to know but I was totally wrong about that. you only have to pay for multiplayer monthly.😅

There's no subscription fee, that's just for purchasing monthly dedicated server hosting (like MC Realms). When you purchase a game account you don't need to pay anything else. It's the same model as Minecraft.

I bought VS about 1 year and 2 months ago now and I have been loving the game, monthly subscription for a server is not needed since their public test server you could use instead (Or LAN with RAdmin). Super amazing game, I grew tired of Minecraft and how every little thing was just too easy after playing it for 10+ years. Having a new experience is really nice and this game is perfect for just that. Nice video man

I don't mind that it is a subscription, personally, as I don't have a lot of time for gaming. I'm usually only playing one game at a time and like to switch it up regularly, so I wouldn't be subscribed every month. Just when I want to play.

I knew what this was within the first second of that scenery. VS is so beautiful. Even if it hadn't been the best survivalist game I've ever played, the landscape itself would have been worth the purchase.

We now have vintage story clones 😂 in the form of a modpack for Minecraft called all the mods: Gravitas it has knapping, prospecting clay and leather working and more. Or perhaps it came out before I'm not certain on the timeline but the more features you listed the more I realized it's just like gravitas which I have been playing a lot recently

you could play TerraFirmaCraft also, it's kinda like Vintage story but with different mechanics... the prospecting, forging and many other things are there too.

Been playing this since July of 2023. It's really damn good. The temporal stability mechanic, husbandry, farming. Everything is great. The issues i have with it stem from buying the game on their official website (My bank got angry) So buy it from humble bundle or itch. The other issue is that this game takes a LONG time to learn and a LONGER time to progress. Here's a little fun fact though. It started out as a Minecraft mod called Vintagecraft.

played this game for half a year and its absolutely worth it, other things they have include really good (and difficult) farming mechanics, you can make working windmills to power grindstones to make flour and other useful things, theres full seasons with winter being extremely difficult to survive because crops dont grow and such, food gets rotten if you dont find ways to preserve it like cellars, you can chisel into blocks (like the chisel and bits mod for minecraft) to get leather you need to cure it and do a crazy process, and theres also a bunch of mods for the game, such as flintlock guns, carry on (like minecraft) and blocks and texture packs

I think a good way for minecraft to get its own side of this is to play some of the TerraFirmaCraft modpacks, it looks and feels a lot like vintage story and even has knapping. it does however almost entirely revamp the original feel of minecraft though.

Another thing I learned about the devs of Vintage Story is that they're former workers on the Hypixal spinoff we heard of a while ago. Though I do not know if any more has come of it. I honestly have not looked, but the devs left because of creative differences and made this gem.

0:27 I unironically had fun on BlockStory but the clunky movement made it annoying to play sometimes on mobile. But at the time it was like playing Minecraft with shaders, with magic and medieval fantasy mods along with radiant quest giving NPCs (That just looked like copy pasted assets but were still kinda cool LOL). I liked that you could fly/glide in the game using magic and had a mana bar pretty early on.

Amazing game, play it alot. I put most of my hours into terrafirmacraft mod in minecraft, so to see a game thats like it but fully realized and continually being worked on is great.

The developers are the same people who came up with minecraft TFC mod, witch is basically survival minecraft as it supposed to be. Its painful but also very fun and fulfilling mod where every milestone and progress makes you genuinely fulfilled.Everyone should try it.

Vintage Story is such a good game. If you like Minecraft and want a more rewarding survival experience, it is definitely the game for you. Edit: You dont have to pay monthly for this game. Those are servers you can pay monthly for. The game is actually pretty cheap!

My biggest merit to this game is the sheer fact that I spend more time researching the history and methods people used through history than actually on the game. I toyed with mushroom gathering, but never got serious about foraging until I learned more about mycology and discerning poisonous shrooms. I spent 4 hours looking up cool mushrooms instead of taking a 30 minute foraging session in the nearby woods in game.

so this game is basically a mesh between Mjnecraft, Sons of The Forest, Rust and Ark

It more feels like this is a game more intended for an older audience more keen on these more specific details of crafting and resource management. Where Minecraft has it's impractical silliness cause kids are dumb and won't question the logic of wood pickaxes. Fun vid and fun to learn about these games.

I do wish Minecraft had an ultra hard mode, making iron, coal, and especially diamonds insanely hard to find.
