Let me explain what I understand. Two Sparkle. One red mask, one white mask. Red invite White to play Russian Roulette (1 bullet, 6 slots, chance 1/6). White asked “What’s the price”. Red andwered “Life of a faker”. Now how the game started: 1. White shots herself first - missed - then got interrupted by enemies. 2. Red got the gun. She shots herself 3 consecutive times - all missed. 3. White doesn’t smile anymore. Red give White the gun and point at her own forhead, triggered, and it missed. 4. At the end of the trailer. White gets shot in the head with the bullet and drop her mask. Red picks it up and places it on her face, turn into red mask.

There's a lot of symbolism to unpack here, and one COULD go for a deep dive, but two things stood out that others haven't mentioned - First is the very obvious symbolism of Sparkle killing herself over and over - both her roles and her "self" so easily let go of, covered in the trails of bunting of elation. The second - there's some old screenwriter's advice (Chandler's Law) - if the plot is getting too slow and the audience isn't paying attention, have someone burst into the room with a gun". For stories that are written on the fly like long TV shows and the genre of pulp fiction, It instantly brings viewers attention back and gets the plot moving again. Sparkle's quite literally acting like a walking plot device here to add some chaos to the mix, just like she does in the main story on her first reveal to the Trailblazer.

Honestly the entire trailer is a kurumi refrence. Her design is like kurumi, her myriad celestia school girl outfit is similar to kurumi, her having various clones is like kurumi, her clones have different personalities like kurumi(each of kurumi's clone is herself in a different time, so each has the personality she had at that specific time), her laugh is like season 1 kurumi, she has a gun and shoots herself like kurumi, and you never know what she will do just like season 1-3 kurumi. In her myriad celestia trailer she asked who's the real sparkle, and in season 1 you basically had to find out who the real kurumi was because that was the only way to kill her. The last bit is like a madoka magica refrence with homura's witch transformation, which is kinda funny as homura has time powers just like kurumi and both are very similar, the concept of inversion in date a Live is the same as witch transformation in madoka magica and both came out around the same time.

The CN one’s laugh is WILD, hopefully you checked it out off-camera 😂

I really like that you included the JP reaction! One thing to note on why JP just hits different (specifically in Sparkle's case) is that JP Sparkle is always speaking in third person by referring to herself as "Hanabi." Referring to oneself in third person is a possible sign of a mental disorder, so it just feels SO fitting for her character.

the celestria trailer and this unfortunately sold me on SParkle lol I liked the story stuff liked her depth but so hyped for acheron I was gonna skip but now my 80 jades tomorrow will be used lol then just gotta work my butt off for acheron I guess I like a few things as I said her depth,she's such a well developed character,unique, plus minor things style is cool she reminds me of a more demented version of the X-mens Jubilee..thats a long story context but basically weird funny girl, over dramatic, once turned to a vampire,got over that villain arch,legit died, ressurected sorta is now a revenge fueled broken character. Oh and the English VA is the main girl from Rent a Girlfriend who is generally so chill and reserved I like hearing the unhinged quality she used for Sparkle lol
