Rex Is a great protagonist but overhated for his ENG voice and dubble spin Edge

Personally, I like the jp dub so much more. There, they have some genuine voice acting legends who do a great job. Zenitsu/Connie voice Rex Ayaka/Shinobu voice Lora/Fan La Norne And they got fucking Cloud Strife to voice Jin. There's some downsides of course, Poppi doesn't sound older in her QT and QTpi forms. Morag isn't scottish, and you can't have Adam Howden as Klaus. But overall, I'd say the voice acting is better overall.

Well, being forgiving and understanding was something he had from the beginning really. I mean, a gang of kids steal his mentor's most priced possession, what does he do? let them explain their situation and then goes to deal with the thieves that destroyed their village, and after that gets said kids a job. Heck, even when Jin killed Fan, Rex's thoughts process wasn't "fuck you Jin, I'm gonna kill you", it was "What happened to make you like this Jin?". Heck, he was even willing to forgive Malos, the guy who never even so much as called him by his name. I guess that's one reason why I like him too, he's a lot more empathetic than most RPG protagonists.

AncientStar 64 yeah, I definitely agree. I guess what I liked about him is that even after everything that happened to him and his friends he still had room in his heart for people like Jin and Malos. A lot of characters would turn their back on the world after all of that, but he stays that good kid who sends money home to the family that raised him the entire way through. That perseverance and empathy are things that I strive for in myself, so I liked Rex a lot.

Frame That’s the point, I think. He’s a kid through and through and has to learn to “grow up” in many ways throughout the story. He gradually starts to mature the further you go. Chapter 7 through 10 in particular do wonders for his character development and story. The contrast between what happens in Chap 3 and Chap 7 I think really shows his progression well.

Cls31 I agree. I’ve also noticed that Rex’s worst voice acting is in the first 3 chapters. But in chapters 8-10 I think his voice acting is actually quite good.
