Wonderful post And We beg People to be super careful, deaths are literally on awerage 1 - 2 every year ! Including l last year despite much fever tourists .

What is the sand made from to give it it’s colour? The rock doesn’t appear to be responsible for the sand.

When lava contacts water, it cools rapidly and shatters into sand and fragmented debris of various size. Much of the debris is small enough to be considered sand. A large lava flow entering an ocean may produce enough basalt fragments to build a new black sand beach almost overnight. Most of Iceland's black sand beaches are made of basalt, which was created this way, when lava came in contact with water.

WOW!!! 🤩 What a BEAUTIFUL ❤️🥰 video!!! I MIGHT BE going to Iceland in April, so I am doing a lot of reading about it. Already, only one day into my reading, and having bought two tour books on Iceland 🇮🇸, I think 💭 it’s a BEAUTIFUL 😻❤️ , SPECTACULAR, INTERESTING 🧐 COUNTRY!!! ❤️❤️❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹
