About the 7:00 minute, you said you'd give it a 10 cause it was something you could dance to. I about dropped my jaw because on Dick Clark's American Bandstand, he would ask the people to rate a newly played song & they would respond on every show with, "I'd give it a 10. It has a good beat & is easy to dance to." ICONIC LINES! :-D

The saxophonist is a man named Danny Flores a Mexican American who also wrote the song "Tequilla." He was known as the "Godfather of Latino Rock." He was the only Hispanic in the group. This song went to number one in 1958 on Billboards top 100.

The big instrument on the right of the screen is a double bass violin, or just an upright bass. It was what many bands used before the electric bass guitar was invented and widely used.

This was one of the great instrumental bands from the 50's-60's. The Champs are an American rock & roll band & most famous for their Latin-tinged instrumental "Tequila". They also did "Limbo Rock" & "El Rancho Rock". You should also check out The Ventures music. They had a lot of great hits such as "Walk, Don't Run", "Telstar", "Lonely Bull" & "Hawaii 5-O" theme. The group The Surfaris had a big hit with "Wipe Out". It was common for these instrumental groups to play each others songs.

I am not sure what year this came out, I probably was not born yet, or I was a little toddler. I can remember my Mom holding me when I was little girl and dancing around and around the house to music like this. Maybe that is why I love music so much :). In the late 60's and early 70's American Bandstand and Soul Train were my two favorite shows growing up. It was so neat to be able to see all these groups play live or watch people dance and learn all the new steps. Knowing how to dance was an important skill to learn back in the day. And there were always new steps and moves coming out. Its a shame people don't do that any more it was really fun! This was a really wonderful video, great pic.
