This is my solution: - If the casus belli overlaps, then that means the invading forces will be hostile to each other (Like the 1066 English war). This can be voided through negotiation (share the conquered land, pay for it, or use hooks). - Otherwise, they will be seen as neutral. - If a vassal whose domain does not overlap with your casus belli is revolting against the lord, you can have a temporary alliance with him. - The lord and his revolting vassals can sign a ceasefire (white peace without truce) if they are being attacked by an outside force. They have a choice whether to resume the civil war or not afterwards. - If you have an alliance with a vassal whose lord you're about to invade, you can neither occupy his domains nor include them in your casus belli. - Attacking a revolting vassal will not incur war with his lord. The lord can later send a demand to take back his lands though.

It is pretty easy when you try it this way Start as Haesteinn assisnate right at the begining King Charles of West Francia (he tries the same with you and late with Eudes of Anjou House: Capet), do a varangian adventure to the baltic coast (Rostock, Rügen, Lübeck. You can get both the Jomsvikings as basically free mercs, which you can form the second you have a holding owned by you on the south coast of the Baltic sea). Raid and kill neighbouring cities. Form the Jonsvikings first as for once the AI tries to form them too and you are unable to form them the moment you have a feudal kingdom As Haestein already has the plundering perk should be feasible to get both Jomsvikings and Man and the Isles if you survive the assasination attempts of Charles and Eudes (or yeah just kill the both of them start with Charles because for once he has his plot against you on the way at the start of the game and Eudes is still a child) For one I do this because Haesteinn starts as Feudal with only Montaigu as Norse - Asatru between 3 powerfull Catholic powers (Aquitaine in the South East, Brittany in the North West, and West Francia in the East/North East) and by varangian down to the baltic sea south coast you are back to tribal which makes troops rediculusly cheap (espacially the norse varagians and huscarls)

@@itmkoeln with haestein doesnt it change one of the duchys away from what counts for the Mann and the isles decision? Whenever I try to use him that duchy between ivar and alba changes names once he owns it and doesn’t count anymore towards the decisions auto de jure

unless its one barony minors such as orkney/shetland/faroes pretty sure they just didnt raise their troops there as it was pointless

@@connorgrant1816 True. I think the AI lately recognizes when it is so utterly outnumbered that it shouldn't raise troops. Though its ironic since if troops are already raised they tend to spam attack until they stack wipe themselves.

@@PhoenixFires yeah, it also seems to be purely numbers based as I've had nations with 3kish troops allow me to raid with 5k basically just levies, but in my current game Im just going around with 500 vigmen and 500 Bondi and my knights and slaughtering those same 3-4k armies

@@connorgrant1816 I've had the opposite experience. They tend to attack vastly bigger armies if I'm sieging down their land and just stack wipe themselves on their own capital.

Quick addendum is both of these options with be of your faith. Meaning it can be really beneficial to give to local nobility for more than culture acceptance

+ the special soldiers that some characters (ivar/halfdan/haesteinn...etc) get at the start of the game also dont replenish, i personally get so minorly annoyed by it i often dont use the event troops as halfdan or ivar. i do as haesteinn as they stand down on succession, and charles is adamant on going after me until one of us dies, and since everyone hates you as haesteinn its not hard for that to succeed

I think they just forget to manage things. In general that's what people mean when they say these games are hard. They don't like managing resources

You realise the huge prestige you need to get to achieve Living Legend? I've tried this using hunts and feasts, you get nowhere close.

@@M_DunYea, it helps to have an empire or kingdom tbh, I created kingdom of Ireland after elevating monn and popped out feasts n hunts while invading Scotland and England, (half owned by west Francia) took a while but living legend was achieved by like 977AD

My main issue is alliances, I get a ton of call to wars far away that economically aren’t feasible for me
