One of the good things about this set is that it’s attractive to a broad audience who won’t ordinarily be into LEGO, similar to the Botanical sets. But more importantly than that.. Usually LEGO is either one way or the other when it comes to looks vs technical brilliance, Technic sets usually hit the mark when it comes to great LEGO engineering but don’t always look particularly stunning. The Art Mosaic sets hit the mark when it comes to looks but fails to excite the builder in terms of innovate building techniques which Technic sets often do so well. This in my opinion is one of the few LEGO sets that truly strike both cords and in that regard, it is a true masterpiece of a LEGO set.

Lego sets have been improving for years, every year you will find 2 or 1 sets that manage to be so better than the sets before them and that they set a new standard for certain bricks or techniques.

I have to say, one of the biggest things that stood out to me about the set is the mini figure-great outside by the box thinking to include Van Gogh as he is painted in his own self portrait!

This opens a new dimension of what LEGO can be. I wonder if we'll get more works of art recreated in LEGO form.

First lego set I purchased as an adult

I love love love this set. Went to the immersive Van Gogh experience in Zürich and this is a nice addition for my home! I did move Van Goh and his stand into the middle of the painting instead of to the side. I also have a bit of flashbacks of getting one or 2 bricks wrong in the background and having to redo the whole thing. 😬

There is something special about this set, it’s mesmerising in the exact same way the original painting is . Think 2022 will go down as an insane year for Lego across the board .

So im currently in the process of building this set, however i have one minor concern. Im worried that if i hang this piece, theres one section that isnt supported, the bottom right section that holds the Church and Village. i noticed the only thing holding it in place, is the double stud rows of out facing black 1x4 bricks. With the section pushed onto them, but there's nothing underneath supporting this section if it were to be hung. So can anyone tell me if they've had any issues of this section falling off after being hung, or if there is more support added onto it later on? Im currently on Step 5 of 9. Or does that double row offer enough support to keep gravity from pulling it off the wall?

Isn't anything that is built art whether it's engineering or architecture you have to imagine then draw out a plan. Buildings, cars, clothing, streets, etc.. in life everything is art. Everything was, has and will be imagined. Seems to me art is in everything ✌️🤓👍

I got this set the day it released for VIPs, and it hangs on the wall above my bed and will never be taken down :)

At my local Lego store, they told me that EVERYTHING is going up in price on August 1st. So if it is released before then, it is going up.

It's a great set, but the Tree of Souls is the set that evoked an emotional reaction for me.

While I do think this is one of the best sets of 2022…I don’t think it’s the best. Personally I think the best set is the Tallneck.

I looks great and obviously would be a great choice for someone who enjoys Van Gogh’s art, but the only time I see myself purchasing this set is for the pieces.

Lego set ♥️ but I just like set with more figure 😅 but it the artwork imagine telling your family you are getting a painting but get Lego set because it won't be damage by liquid , this is quite cool., I recommend keeping in living room may be with glass aquarium or glass case. Imagine more art painting incoming from Lego. Because of this set.

i've seen good reviews of this set that comment on how tedious the build process is. i like the look of it and the idea behind the art recreation, but i dont think im getting it

Sorry, I think that award goes to the Lego Lion Knight’s Castle, 10305. This is a nice set, no doubt, but just a display piece.

LOL! The playability of the starry night is amazing! /s It's a decent set but best set of 2022? It's just a display piece, nothing more! The 90th anniversary Castle looks to be the best set. The AT-AT comes close with it's only downfall being the fact that it's all grey.

My personal opinion is that a set cannot be the best set if it has zero playability. A set does not need to necessarily aimed at play, but even the UCS Falcon is playable (of course not swooshable). If you're a kid, you can play with figures in the Falcon, even recreate scenes outside the falcon with stormtroopers firing on it.
