kind of disagree on turbo being holding the value better here. 1st turbo adds more complexity and stress to the engine and transmission, which means higher chance of something being broken say after 100k miles. 2nd adding the turbo takes up more space under the hood, which means less space and more labor hours for repairs such as serpentine belt replacement, which means higher repair cost. 3rd, mazda's turbo doesnt have the cleaniest track record in the past, and unlike honda and toyota which have experimented with turbos for decades already.
