The sate on the grills looked awesome!!!! Tourists always get over charged in local markets that doesn't have the prices mentioned and yes, the only way to get around it is to learn Bahasa. Great vlog and thanks for the insurance link as we will get insurance on our next trip. Love & respect from Bangladesh.

Great video and yes it sucks getting charged a higher price. I’ve learnt some very very basic Bahasa and Balinese and was born in Philippines so I kind of pass but when I’m with my big Orang Puti Aussie husband the charges change. Go to Warung Nasi Tekor in Denpasar the food is amazing, sooo enak! And the guy is so bloody cheerful and nice you will love it and seriously he charged us 20kIDR each. We ended up ordering and buying so many different add ons for ourselves and driver and gave him double the amount as a tip for not trying to jack up the prices and because it’s one of the best Indo food we’ve ever had. Thanks for all the vids. We arrived Saturday went to hotel via Babi Guling Warung and I’m basically just following a list of places and dishes you’ve suggested. Gotta try Obama’s fave dish! Also our fave Babi Guling place is Warung Babi Guling Ibu Ari Payangan and Pak Dobil in Nusa Dua. You guys rock! So happy for your big jump in subscribers!

05:25 totally agree if it's doesn't look good don't buy it, but when you do buy just finish as much you can, just imagine still alot people wanted to eat but can't 12:45 looks like fried fish cake / otak-otak (not brain just called like that) if it's tempura it should have shrimp in it doesn't look like it

@@Rippleofflove if you in doubt then don't buy it, i'm indonesia i don't always like what it's served here so i don't buy it, like that red star fried in the video if it the original food it's fine but sometime if it too cheap they just mix any kind cheap fish meat that make my tongue itchy allergy , most street food in Indonesia serve plastic bag to take home your left over

Been to Bali many times and my favourite foods are Nasi Goreng (the go to Indo street food), Gado Gado (rice dish in peanut sauce), savoury Martabak, Rendang (spicy beef), Nasi Campur (you get a bit of a few dishes), Sate (of course), Ayam Betutu (chicken in balinese spices), Ikan Bakar (fish in balinese spices) and for dessert Bubur Ketan Hitam (black rice pudding), Martabak Manis (sweet martabak), Pisang Goreng (fried banana) and Dadar Gulung (coconut pancakes).

Babi gouling is delicious. This last February I became a Pescatarian, where you only eat seafood from the live animal world. Reason being is the cancer treatment drugs I was taken effected every part of my being in a negative way. So I quit taking the cancer drugs in October and altered my diet in February and quit eating animal meat/parts entirely. Best decision I ever made. All the numerous bad side effects have stopped and I feel 1000 times better. I still have thought of what this or that type of meat taste like but I have no regrets at all.

in Indonesia if you buy something very cheap like for example the price of the item is 5000, then you pay for it with 100000, the seller is having trouble finding the change, then the seller will usually give you for free because there is no change, maybe you need money with small nominal like 10000, 20000 because it's easier to get the change. You can exchange money anywhere such as in mini markets and stalls around you.

Who needs to go out to a show or a movie when you can entertain yourself and the locals with Guess what you're eating and what's it going to cost you! Definitely a locals night market and being in Denpasar and not a tourist area you most definitely challenged yourselves....well done. The experience would have been so worth it 👌 I have found that going to a predominantly local market is a huge learning curve and going for the first time at night takes it to another level. 😀 Only recently happened across your vlogs and am enjoying the journey you are so graciously sharing with us 💖. I am planning on returning to Bali within a couple of months and am finding the information very helpful as so much has changed since I was last there. Always look forward to your next vlog. Wondering if you have spent any time along the coastal villages collectively called Amed?

You guys crack me up, LOL. Reminds me of my better half and I agreeing to disagree on what food is OK to eat from street vendors and how much does it REALLY cost. Haven't been to this market and probably won't as it looks too busy for us but nevertheless it was yet again a great vlog on just how varied Bali can be. Look forward to your next creation. Rob G.

I think it’s definitely good to let the overcharges go, just like u did, well done bc it could spoil your joy over a few dollars. The filming prob doesn’t help, some ppl think, look at them, who are they? They prob. have money to spare, which isn’t fair …but at least you are getting great content from all of these interesting hardworking ppl in the market. Try to be grateful for the great content rather than feeling duped, bc how you feel is what matters most and affects your whole outlook 💜

I would generally avoid these places, particularly if you don't know what to order. One reason is that, while good food can be had, it's a bit of a lottery. You need to keep in mind that these types of places cater to the 'working class' that doesn't have a while lot of money. Consequently ingredients are not top notch. Night food markets? I'd try the one in Sanur, but it really does pay off to pay a little more. If you wanna eat local, ask the Balinese where you live where they get their morning or noon nasi campur. That's always the best bet.
