Cracking finish on the bike Sam, it looks good and I guess it should withstand the worst of the weather, salt and a good few washes too!

I thought the Xcp rust blocker in the orange can was the best in the Bennetts tests. I have both the Xcp rust blocker and the Xcp rust blocker clear coat. I use both in various ways on my bike and they’re fantastic. Better than anything I have ever used by far.

Hi can I have some advice , should I trust superbike who I’m buying a bike off to have GuardX done to my bike?

Maybe my trust in people is damaged, haha, but I personally would redo it. If they say they have done it as part of the sale, then legally, they have to have done it. You could ask where the dealer gets it done. My local KTM dealer pays a professional bike detailer to give their used bikes a full restoration detail. That company also XCP coats everything. If it's the dealer doing the coating, it's likely not done incredibly well. Having said that, there is no harm in getting the bike re-coated!

I have the xcp in the orange not the clear coat will it be messy on a new bike?

That version is slightly thicker so definitely try to light dust with an air gun if you can. If not, dab it onto the prime rusting parts like bolts and that should cover it enough. Engine cases rarely rust but it's always the bolts that do as their protective layer isn't as thick

Its a Givi Trekker Dolomiti 46 litre with the Givi rack. I think SW do a rack for it too

I get my bikes ceramic coated before I pick it up then it’s super clean and protected makes cleaning bikes so much easier too great video 👍🏍🎉🏍🏍👍

How long does ceramic coating last? And is it accurate that dirt and grit doesn't stick because of it?

It completely depends on the use of the bike, and what it's exposed to. It should last a few months minimum, and anywhere up to a few years. It wears away with time like waxes etc. The bike will also still get dirty, but water beads and runs off meaning if you rode in the rain, it will be far cleaner when you get home than if you didn't have it coated. The biggest benefit for me is how much easier and quicker it is to wash!

Bike looks fantastic so must try ceramic coat, can it be used on cars too? Don't suppose you have a referral code for it, being a cheap skate.

Great job!! Sam did you notice less wind noise with your screen spoiler? The wind noise is pretty bad in the SAS.

Thank you! Yes! It's a PUIG one and I usually ride with my visor open. Barely any wind In my face at all! I've heard the MRA screen is good for it too

Yes that's the one! It's just under the width of the original screen and maybe 2.5inches in height. Made a huge difference for me. Mind you I am vertically challenged at a whopping 5ft9 so if you're above that you might have issues still

How did the bike do over the winter?

Perfectly well! It was regularly cleaned but no rust spots at all. The only thing that didn't really survive very well were things like the brake caliper bolts, but I didn't coat those in anything! Just discoloured a bit!

I used another ceramic coating, it has to be said that dirt still clings and requires regular washing effort. Now don't get me wrong, maybe in the long term it will protect (which is what I really want) but those videos where the dirt just rinses off is BS.

It definitely still needs washing and it's not some magic solution that some companies make it out to be. This has made it a lot easier to clean though, and water seems to bead and run off the surface even after a month of washing etc. Hoping it protects it in the long run

Sam that product is the aftercare product for after its been actually coated mate, its not an actual ceramic coating you need to have a look on Ceramic pro site pal

I think it's both! They do the CeramicPro 9H which is their main ceramic coating and the "Care" is a aftercare for those. The Care+ is another ceramic coating but also doubles as a maintenance for the 9H

@@SamVBikes you would never get a coating in a spray bottle mate, it probably has some ceramic properties to top up and maintain but that's about it pal

@@ridingwithaj1086 It's definitely done something as the water beads and sheets well. Ceramic Pro's website states it is a ceramic coating so If it's not a proper one, I'd assume there are some properties that are technically the same, otherwise they wouldn't be legally allowed to market it as that. I'd expect it to not be anywhere near as good as the professional ones though
