Hello Conor, Four years ago I had a right knee replacement. At first everything seemed perfect but after about six months I started to feel like my right leg was longer. Over time the shift got worse. Today it feels like my right leg is longer and the left side is crunched in. I had an MRI and found I had four bulged disks L1-L5. So Doctor said my body was compensating due to the back pain. I have now been through about three months of lumbar decompression and nothing has changed. Doctor at first said once we finished the decompression he had many ways to fix my tilt. Now his solution is to use a shim in my left shoe which in my opinion is BS. If I had a shorter leg I would have known years in advance. If the knee surgery would have resulted in a shorter leg then I should have noticed it soon after surgery. In summary I feel that my problem came from my body compensating for the back pain which now has turned into lower back pain of the muscles instead of the nerves. Will this 90/90 plank work for my tilt and in my case do I do it on my Right side given that my left side is the one that is compressed? If you would like to call me please feel free to do so. I would love to speak with you. Thanks for the great videos and help. Albert 786-280-1246

why does arching levels of my spine on one side and bowing them on the other side help? I've noticed that my spine is biased toward bowing on a particular side and arching on the other side, and the biased sides change depending on the level. I didn't have physical awareness of this all my life, but now I can feel it and it takes time to learn how to move the right away. Worked at it a bit in my lumbar spine alone with leaning while seated, and my femoral head like suctioned back into the hip capsule and it was a big relief

@ArthursAtman19 күн бұрын
@@rahjebwallahi5076 Yes. I was shocked to see a noticeable difference in a few days. Progress continues but has slowed down to the pace I expected. Sticking with it. While all of my martial arts instructors advised that I throw as many left as right kicks, etc, I likely failed them here and strengthened one side more than the other. Balancing this out is a matter of undoing a couple decades of fighting/training south paw. Strengthening things symmetrically is more important than I imagined, as is being proven out for me at least. Good luck friend :)

@@ArthursAtman question; on what side did you do the exercise? for me my right hip is higher (and I'm leaning more towards that side and breathing in through the left; just like he shows in the video). Am unsure if I should have my right side facing down or the left side. thanks for ur help man
@ArthursAtman18 күн бұрын
@@lostjosh250 left side-plank, to counter-act throwing way more right-lead kicks than left hehe. My right hip is higher and forward as a result, so the left side plank is pulling my left hip up to level via serratus muscles, while opening up rib cage on the right while breathing

A question, if my right hip is hiked and i lean twoards the left side, do i do the excersise on my right side or left?
@ArthursAtman17 күн бұрын
@@andrejilic38 my guess is left. My right hip is hiked as well, and forward, but strengthening the serratus muscles on my left is evening it out considerably. In my case, however, my right leg is also 1-3cm longer. Bruce Lee's right leg was 1 inch longer, btw...so these asymmetries are usually not crippling, but they do need to be looked after :)

Hey Conor, My lumbar spine is twisted because the compression on the right got too much, that brings my pelvis on the right side forward. Can you make a video about that case? Or tell us some exercises. Nobody talks about that i haven’t found any videos. I hope you understand what I mean. Have a great day 👌🏼🙌🏻

Isn’t that exactly what this video is all about?
@moreplantbasedАй бұрын
@@JFox4587 In the video, Conor speaks of a left pelvis moving forward (anterior pelvic tilt) relatively to the right side which is in a more posterior position. The folks above mention that their right pelvis is actually the opposite and in a forward position. So this is somewhat contradictory to what is presented in video. Of course, there is a logical explanation for all of this and surely there are other compensations at play here. But I'm not knowledgeable enough to explain this myself, unfortunately.

My right obliques look hollow in comparison to my left. Does that mean I should focus on my right obliques ? i.e. make sure my right side is facing the floor? And does that mean that my right side is the one that is compressed?

Bit if take the opposite position with the compressed side down, would'nt the gravity itself expand the compressed side.
@friday1806Ай бұрын
I think you bring up an interesting point. After trying both, the compressed side down version is more of a relaxed movement where you actually want to sag more. The compressed side up version is more of an active approach. I think they could both be effective. It’s just all about intention.

My left side acts like a "short leg." Is that the side that should be facing the floor?
@ACarpenter89Ай бұрын
So how many sets and reps? do I do it on both sides? If my left hip is lower and my right hip is higher, do I do it only on one side and if so which side? If my left hip is lower, should I be doing it where the right hip is the one that's up in the air? At the highest point during the exercise you showed us an exercise, but you didn't give any real instruction other than how to do the exercise?

Conor, I was always advised by my MA instructors to perform kicks and such on both sides, so as not to produce imbalances. I did so. However, JKD is right-lead dominant, and I threw many more right kicks than left. I've always had a pelvic tilt, and every PT or doctor I've talked to said "meh, it's not a problem". I think they were wrong. My abs, serratus muscles, etc are more well-developed on my right, so no wonder my right hip moves forward. I think these doctors are full of bunk; and am using your methods to counter-act. Why do doctors so easily dismiss my observations? I can hold my right leg at shoulder level in a kick longer than my left...this is a problem. Can you explain why these doctors and PTs are being so obtuse to such obvious facts?
@ArthursAtman14 күн бұрын
Update, day 12: pelvis is balanced and symmetrical. Can't believe this worked so quickly. I can show you pictures of me at 4 with that tilt, made worse by throwing so many right kicks...fixed now. Stunned. Many thx Conor
