The truck: Born from a combination of an '86 2wd from California and an '83 4wd from here in BC the Yeti made his debut in March 2018. He had been semi built by a friend of a friend of mine 5 years prior and sat most of the year only being driven a few times each summer. Before Stacey and I were dating, (I was totally courting her) I took her down to look at the truck with me (she's cool like that). We test drove it, and I new I wanted it, and she knew I was going to buy it. I said to her "this thing is like a sasquatch" and she said "nah, it's more like a Yeti." And so it was from that day forward. Since then he's had some significant upgrades in looks and performance. November 2020 he was rolled in an offroading accident and the cab was replaced with another '86 2wd cab (the blue one).

LMAO.... Missing the 10mm. Yep that is an old Toyota!!! I have an 87 OEM Turbo 4runner with the cheesy but wonderful digital dash that is going to get restored soon. Love watching you guys.

I didn't see or hear about it. But a chainsaw has gotten me through some blocked trails. I actually carry a Milwaukee 16" now, with a few backup 12.0 batts (rapid charger runs off an inverter). It's much quieter, and I don't have to worry about premixing fuel.

Watching this while rendering a video where we got the 4runner stuck 3 times with no recovery gear 🤣 I do have enough spare parts to build a truck in my drawers though lmao. Great vid AS ALWAYS!

How have I never thought about putting a lip on the draw to sit things on table/chopping block. That's bloody brilliant!

Haha yup it definitely works well for cutting boards and the stove! There's a longer 'lid' about 36" at the back of the drawer that we sometimes put sideways at the end as a cooking table.

Yip, pretty much what I carry. But........I drive a Nissan, ( tongue in cheek ) they dont really need a lot of spares 🤣🍺. And yes, we do a fair amount of very far in the mountains off roading here in South Africa. Last year this time we did a 5500km trip to Botswana and Zambia. Lots of sand two track driving and my Nissan did it with ease. I have family in Canada and would love to go over and do some out in the woods travel. I also have the Canadian flag sticker on the rear of my truck. Cheers, enjoy your travels.👍🍺

Love the set up man! Really want to build drawers like that for my ranger. Got a lift and tires going on this weekend, then sending out into your neck of the woods for a camping trip of my own, definitely going to pack some spare parts now 👍🏻

great video and those wheels are Sweet!! I have never really looked into this I just have learned from my poor packing mistakes and or getting stuck an being unprepared and I've added what I thought was essential and it looks like I've done good. I built a platform with pullout drawers and its been a game changer. I like how you put storage for fluids and anything else you don't want to spill👌

The design flaw of your drawer isn’t the face, it’s the lack of proper drawer slides.

Wildernest question: Do you undo the velcro strap on the end bars before folding/packing down? If I don't remove the velcro it packs tight. If I pull the bars down first (with the velcro removed) the bar drops very low. Not much out there on the Wildernest. Thanks!

Probably a Canadian thing, but I've never met anyone truck-camping in the US without some sort of self-defense weapon. Preferably something that will kill a bear. Not that there are less bears in Canada (not), but because us Americans just seem to like having a gun with us.

I always have the 30-30 in the truck. But not alot of canadians keep a gun in the truck at all times.

Probably we're more concerned with humans than wildlife. A rifle is definitely a practical weapon for the type of remote travel we do, however, keen knowledge and awareness of your surroundings can also be a good weapon ;)

Maybe my Truck break because of too much spares (front and rear shafts and leaves, bearings, joints ,clutch ,belts,hose,3 used fuelpumps recovery wear like shakels strapps and on )and tools i carry ha ha.I am on my own axels ride my LWB Sammy (10 years daily ride) on and off road (though) . Lucky i only break front and rear a leave front because of extrem droop with long travel shocks from first Toyota RAV( rears ) and expandabel shackles.
