'This is the impact of net zero'. A wind farm company has outraged locals after declaring it will build a 'cable corridor' through their area. Businesses, like a horse-riding school for disabled people, will be forced to close permanently: 'How are big companies allowed to do this?'
Sophie Reaper reports.

We fought for nearly five years to save greenbelt over our constituency affecting 15 tenant farmers. It went to a public enquiry lasting 15 weeks and we won. You have to get together, be utterly determined and not resigned in any way to the destruction of our precious green spaces. Getting rid of these areas is another way of curtailing our freedoms. Never give in.

They also have no planning on disposal and everything is toxic. The destruction of green areas should be a clue to the brainless that they have no intention of saving the environment. If I did they would be spending that new green deal money on getting the plastic out of the @$#! water, stopping water depletion and deforestation. Replanting forests with a single species of fast growing pine to cut down later doesn't help with "carbon" either and destroys biodiversity.

@@JSmith19858 The planet does not care about humans or any other living thing on it. It is a rock spinning in space. Besides, have you watched any enviro shows lately? There are trees growing in places they haven't grown in centuries. Falcons are returning to their old habitats due to more shrubs and dense grasslands which provide more opportunity for rodents and other species to thrive. This planet is slowly coming out of its CO2 drought! Plus, what does 'net zero' even mean? It has been proven by many people that several countries with massive forests and other green spaces(from rain forest to federal parks in USA and Canada, to the vast grasslands of Australia) absorb up to 5x their country's CO2 generation, and yet they pay the most for this absurdity of windmills and solar. That's what land based battery storage is for - charge them when the wind blows, use the power when it's not. Or pump water up hill into the hydro electric power station lake to let it flow later. Then there is base line nuclear - which is very safe in geologically stable Europe to the waste easy to store. If storing nuclear waster bothers, remember that the nuclear fuel was in the ground in the first place and we do know how to permanently store it for as long as needed. The energy transformation program is tough to do. Things will change because they have to.

What most people don't understand, is that wind turbines are at the mercy of the winds. You can't control the wind in the same manner as you can control the flow of water in hydroelectric dams. If the wind surpasses a certain level, the turbines would have to shut down or alter the propeller angel to let wind pass by, in other words, you have to sacrifice free energy in order to maintain the generator. And if there's gale wind, you have to shut it down completely, which means NO production. Basically, wind farms is the utopian fantasy of the metropolitan environmental activist class.

Decisions are made first, then a consultaion. Then the work starts regardless. How much more land has to be severly damaged for the country to become eco friendly. Look at the scars from HS2, and the east/west railway. That's just two examples.

For a start that wind farm will not generate energy for 2 million homes it is not big enough. To generate enough energy for 2million homes you would need around 350 turbines spread across 350 square miles. The biggest in the uk is Hornsea wind farm (Yorkshire) that is 300 turbines spread over 335 square miles. That is meant to power more than 2 million homes but it doesn’t even come close to that. So you have a wind farm more than ten times the size of Hull the area it’s meant to provide power to. An it’s not big enough and can’t provide the energy needed. Plus these wind farms are not environmental friendly, they damage wildlife, and it take about 30 years for them to break down once they have been decommissioned and left to the elements or buried to break down. How is that environmentally friendly? Plus the average wind speed in the uk, is above the max working speed of these turbines. Which is why when you look around the uk most of the time these wildlife killers called wind farms turbines are not working. The only environmentally green energy for the uk is wave energy, because the uk is an island. This was shown back in the 1970’s. If wave energy was used in the uk, they would pay for themselves within 2 years, giving energy so cheap it would be next to free. But as it’s rip off Britain they have gone with wind turbines, which damage wildlife, the environment and are a complete eyesore. An make the companies installing them billions and companies running them billions out of the people. An let’s not forget the when the wind farms cannot run the government pays them a million pound plus per day, so it’s a win win for them and a cost of high prices for the uk people.

The developers get automatic planning permission as ££££ talks. Houses have been built on fields that we all were told were green belt , at the council meeting we were told those fields were never green belt . Almost 8 years later they are still digging fields that we should be growing food on.I haven't seen a woodpecker or jay in my garden since the started the groundworks.

Its not just Net zero its big business, we had a huge Evri (former Hermes) depot dubbed by Evri themselves as "Colossus" forced upon us without any true consultation (Hoyland common, Barnsley), the earth movers ripping up green belt land was the first we knew of it. Once the local community found out and disproved, all objections were ignored, all promises of lakeside walks and nature trails that would be part of the development have never come to fruition. All we have is a number of huge depots and trailer parks blighting the countryside with massively increased traffic numbers, nights that never get dark from the glow of floodlights from said depots and cheap labour bussed in from everywhere but the local area (foreign migrants), another broken promise of local work for local people. I feel for the residents of this soon to be destroyed community in Lancashire but unfortunately no matter what they do or say they will get steamrolled like we did because there are too many people in places of power taking back handers like our councillor (doesn't even live in the same county) that doesn't care for them or the village that these types of development ruin.

In an appearance before Congress, Jennifer Granholm, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy, was repeatedly asked how much reduction in global temperatures would occur with a global expenditure of $9.6 trillion per year from 2025 through 2050. She repeatedly responded there is hope that the increase in global temperature would not exceed another 1.5 to 2 degrees by 2100. THAT IS THE EXACT PREDICTION IF WE DO NOTHING!!! Granholm is basically telling us that with or without efforts to reach Net-Zero the predicted increase in global temperature will be the same.

What did these environmentalist think would happen if you start generating power in different locations to the current one's being used? If they think this is bad, there going to be in for a shock when they find out just about ever local power gind (the cables to your house) is going to need to be upgraded to handle the demand for Heat Pumps and car chargers in every home.

Well these are permanent. Alternating current as the wind farm output varies as the wind changes. A fracking drill site is temporary as when the gas gets extracted they seal them up and restore the environment back to what it was.

I have a beautiful farm in South Dakota on land formed by glaciers. There are many lake, rocky fields, and rolling farm land. About 12 years ago, windmills started popping up like mushrooms. It now looks like an industrial park with red glowing lights at night. This because of the lie about green energy and humans causing global warming which is unproven and politically motivated by greed. It sickens. They are destroying the planet to save it.
