Krisyanto is the first vocalist JAMRUD, and Amdonal is the second only as a substitute, they both have very good vocals, but the first vocalist JAMRUD (Krisyanto) will never be replaced. tinos you have to see the song “Berakit-Rakit ke hulu” by Krisyanto's version too. both have their respective advantages. There's a poem in Indonesia said "Berakit-rakit kehulu, berenang ketepian. Bersakit-sakit dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian" means "need rafts to go to the headwater, to the edge only by swimmin. Do it with every effort then the happiness comin". But in this song, theyve change it to "berakit-rakit kehulu, berenang ketepian, bersakit-sakit dahulu, malah mati kemudian" means "need rafts to go to the headwater, to the edge onlu by swimmin. Do it with every effort, then dead's coming"

It's from the proverbs, no pain no gain.. But in this case they sing it like: only pain, no gain, just death later on (chorus) 😁

Just incase nobody bother to explain it to you "Berakit-rakit kita ke hulu, berenang-renang ketepian. Bersakit dahulu senang pun datang" Is a proverb Literaly translated "Berakit-rakit" = "rafting-rafting" "Kita ke hulu" = "we go upstrem" Meaning... "Doing realy hard effort" "Berenang-renang ketepian" = "swiming to the river side" Meaning... "To enjoy" "Bersakit dahulu" = "first you suffer" "Bersenang-senang kemudian" = "enjoy the happines later on" By combining both the proverb goes like "Rafting-rafting to the upstream then to swim to the riverbank" "Hurt first then enjoy the result" Meaning : "Do hard effort first and you will enjoy the result later on" But Jamrud change the suposedly the continuation of the proverb "Rafting-rafting to the upstream then to swim to the riverbank" "Hurt first but happines never come" Yeah... why I bother to explain it anyway😑

Berakit-rakit is actually mean to paddle a raft. The word is taken from Indonesian old rhyme proverb "Berakit-rakit ke hulu, berenang-renang ke tepian, Bersakit-sakit dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian" which literally means: "Let's paddle the raft upstream, and swim to shore, Be sick first (take the pain forward), have fun later (and enjoy the result later)" and the real meaning is more like "no pain no gain" But in this song the last part of the proverb was changed into "Bersakit dahulu senang pun tak datang, Malah mati kemudian" which literally means "I took the pain but the (joyful) result never came, so I'll die instead" to metaphore how hard the obstacle he's been through and still didn't give him any good result.

If you like Donald's voice, please do a favor search his homeground band's song called "Black Angel" with title Benci or Tak Tahu Malu or Bila. I assure you wouldn't regret, except the sound quality recorded indie long time ago but the skill and arrangemet was fantastic. The song Benci also remade with amazing female lead vocal.

The original vocalist Krisyanto left in 2007. But he is back to the band in 2011 to present. Some fans mostly new fans prefer Amdonal as vocalist. But I am as older fans prefer Krisyanto because his voice and style is more fit with Jamrud in my opinion. Every people have their own taste^^ Originally Jamrud was going to use 2 vocalist after Krisyanto back, but because of their voice colors are similiar, Amdonal left the band.

Maksudnya dari judul lagu ini adalah sebuah PANTUN, BERAKIT RAKIT KE HULU BERENANG KETEPIAN...jadi berjuang dulu dan nanti di ujung nya dapat kesenangan.(KEBAHAGIAAN) tetapi yang terjadi adalah berjuang sekuat tenaga tetapi ujungnya kalah juga. Di situ ada kritik sosial dimana dia merasa tidak tenang untuk mengatakan kata hati karena di kekang okeh aturan aturan kuno. Bisa di tangkap dan di penjara oleh penguasa. Maaf jika kurang pas.🙏🙏🙏

The apropriate translation of "berakit-rakit" probabbly "row, row" like from the children song, "Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream Merrily merrily, merrily, merrily Life is but a dream" And actualy Jamrud took the word "berakit-rakit" from Indonesian proverb "Berakit-rakit ke hulu, berenang-renang ke tepian; bersakit-sakit dulu, bersenang-senang kemudian" thank for the reaction
