As the owner a 2021 Octavia RS that was part of VGA launch fleet, I suggest to anyone who is buying one to make sure the infotainment system firmware is up to date. 95% of the whinging in owners groups come from owners who's cars have an infotainment software version older then 1941 - released late in 2023. They've released updates every 6 months or so since launch. Skoda dealers do not update this software unless there is a reported problem. Even then they can be resistant. I'm just hoping Skoda Connect launches with the facelift so that we can get over the air updates. Something Skoda doesn't let you do over your home WiFi unlike Ford's Sync 3. Admittedly you can connect the current Octavia to your home WiFi but it does nothing - why? To sum up my very long comment. I love my car, it's great and I'd recommend it to anyone. Just make sure you get the software updated.

It's a real jack of all trades it's amazing to drive especially on the open road. It's a real cruiser and makes long diver seamless. Took it from Sydney to Melbourne and back and it made the drive seem like half the time it is great car. The only major issue for me was the fuel economy around town especially with the stop start but it's improving as the car gets driven in. I guess that's what you get with a turbo. On the highway the last run I had down south to Bright it gave me over 800km range for the 50l tank it has. I was going at speed of just over 110km, which was amazing.

Unfortunately it was discontinued in 2022. Because it shared the same engine tune with the Cupra Leon V, VAG likely decided it was at risk of cannibalising sales because the price point was roughly the same. Likely why the Octavia Sportline doesn't come with the 140TSI as had been originally stated.

Interesting review. It's a shame that we don't get the Euro version of the RS in Aus as small things like electric adjusted seats and auto tow bar fitted would be great if they have that in Aus. There are some reviews that I've seen with the Facelift update already released in Europe with upgraded features.

Mamba green is cool, impossible to overlook. A neighbor 50 yards away in Pilsen has Enyaq Coupe in Mamba Green. Attracts my eyes more than the other 100 cars on the street combined. Fifty percent due to the Enyaq Coupe shape, fifty percent due to the color. It is toxic, refreshing, and similar to the snake. Search for mamba green snake. Porsche has its own color called mamba green but it is just another dark leaf green color with a wrong name.... VRS is a great but expensive bonus.

@@wasupdoc1738 nope not at all. That's a common misconception and I wish people would understand that they are not tied to having their cars serviced at a dealership in order for a warranty to be valid. I will say however that dealership servicing can make a warranty claim process easier, as the onus will be on you to prove that any servicing done independently meets the requirements of the manufacturers service schedule in case of a dispute with the manufacturer during a warranty claim. This should not be an issue tbh if your chosen mechanical workshop does the work required per the schedule and verifies it in the car's service book or in the service job invoice (which you ofc keep for your record).

@nicholasmatthews5989
@nicholasmatthews5989 3 ай бұрын
Hi Murray, Skoda says "...Enjoy clever solutions that, simply, work. Peerless...", but yet they are unable to provide a flat floor between the boot and the folded rear seats. This is simply not clever, it is very disappointing. From my understanding Skoda does have an option in Europe providing a raised boot floor to match the rear folded seats to provide a reasonably flat floor, but unfortunately Skoda Australia does not provide this. The raised boot floor should come as standard (hopefully they provide this with the upcoming Octavia), which may also enable the fitment of a full size spare tyre. The Mazda 6 wagon does have a reasonable flat floor with the rear seats folded, which for me makes it more appearing than the Octavia wagon here. Cheers.
