Have used SEED yellow balls for a couple of years. Good performance indeed, BUT...cover is absolutely not as durable as ProVs. That said, I'm not expecting a three round outing with them.

Been using the Titleist since the Tour pro and Tour balata models and the ProV1 since it came out and still love it but they are now pricing themselves out of the amateur market even with 4 for 3 deals and I will be trying the Seed 01 later in the year!

Pro V I still remember the day at the course in high school when they came out, used to use the Tour Professional 100. That ball was revolutionary.

So many have been pronounced thus: Seed, Vice, Wilson Staff, OnCore, Snell, Kirkland etc. Yet so many golfers I know stay stubbornly loyal to the Pro V1

Fair play Al! I’m an SD02 user so I’m excited to see this series. I find them good but always have that doubt in my mind because A) Im an inconsistent hacker & B) dont have that access to tech to properly test. Point A above should not be overlooked.

Hi iv just started testing the seed 02 and im finding it to be just as good as the pro-vx although not so much around the green but having said that they will be staying in the bag for the foreseeable.

just curious, what shafts (iinc weight and flex) do you use in your irons (with Dynapower forged heads)? do you use a different shaft for your 5 or 4 iron versus shorter irons?

VICE pro plus is an awesome product. 3 piece urethane, so feel is no different than a ProV1 (imo), driver & long irons spin is low, and green side is very high. At $10-$15 less than ProV1s, and from my experience, a much more durable ball, I go with VICE Pro Plus every time.

I too love the Vice balls, play those when I am feeling good about my play, kirkland when there is a higher probability that if I misshit the ball will be lost, ie. Water, leaves in the fall under trees or really deep stuff off either side of the fairway.

How durable is the covering?? In my review the companies save the money on a cheap cover, like the maxfli tour x..

Depends on which "generation" of Seed ball. I stopped using Seed SD-01 at the Gen 2 because the cover would end up with embedded sand particles after 1 bunker shot. The latest Gen 3 an on now has VERY GOOD durability. Close to Srixon Z-Star which is my other regular ball, and regarded as best durability in urethane cover.

SD-01 is Seed's lower compression ball if you prefer softer feel. They do perform well for me.

Every new ball out there is the "titleist" killer as it takes away market share. As long titleist records recycled/refurbished golf balls sales from third parties in its sales, it will be impossible to catch up to the claim.

There isn't a ProV1 killer. It's been the number one ball in golf for 20 years and isn't stopping any time soon. That said, there are a lot of good budget options out there.
