I hope the Marine that lost his knife is home safe, sound, and healthy in body, mind, and soul! As a retired Marine, if it were my knife, I would want you to keep it (but it is not my knife). Semper Fi!

I have a black Presidio issued to me while in the Marines, as a consumable item. I’ve had it since 2009. It’s definitely the best pocket knife I have ever had. Semper Fi.

Great video! The world needs more good people like you in it! Loved the story and your video! Looking forward to the follow up! I actually have that same knife but my story is I purchased it used with a broken spring from a gun show. Ordered a new spring and put an edge on it. Great carry!

I was that soldier once. My squad and I was returning from a mission one afternoon in Vietnam. As I sat in the back on the deuce and a half I realized my knife holster was empty! That knife (I believe it was a Gerber) was a double edge fixed blade and was made for combat. I was devastated. I have a dream that some day someone will call me and say they have my knife. It is still possible because I had my name rank and social security number etched on it. I am glad you are willing to return you knife to that unlucky soldier.

Mate, I watch this video about every 6 months just to have a look at that Presidio, great knife story and great wearing knife its why I love the Presidio, I have the new Presidio but I really want the old one. This is how a knife should look.

Hi Zack, I feel I am late to the party as I've only just seen your video of your amazing knife story. It's 2023 as I post this so your video was 5 years ago now. I cannot help but wonder if you ever did manage to get in contact with the former owner of your knife? I'm guessing not as I've looked on your channel and could not find a follow-up story apart from the sharpening video. It's an amazing story to hear and I loved the part at the end where you offered to return it. 5 years after your post the world seems a slightly more crazy place and this is why I enjoyed your video and story so much. I have had mine for 14 years. It has saved me and my buddies in some sticky situations. I hope to get a hold of bench made and send them off to get redone for them as a gift without them knowing.

Semper Fi to the sailors that took us around the world to do what Marines do!! Was on the USS Durham LKA 214 for 11 1/2 months during the 1st Gulf War. Wish they made Benchmade knives then!!!

Awesome video, just found the channel. Subscribed. Just FYI, even though it's a really cool knife as is, Benchmade has an incredible warranty on that knife. You can send it into them and have a brand new blade , serrated or non serrated put on it for $30 or $40 for coated. Sent a few of them in for that procedure. Keep rocking it as is - just know you have an incredible company standing in the wing, standing behind that knife.

I'm not a huge fan of serrated blades or only partially serrated blades. But, that is mainly because I haven't the foggiest idea of how to sharpen them. I'm anxious to see how you do it. Perhaps then I can start carrying my Gerber folder again. I currently carry a Kershaw Zing, which I'm loving.

Christopher, I think it comes down to buying the right sharpening gear (which i'm not prone to do) I did come up with something that is slightly better than nothing. I hope to get the vid uploaded tonight.

Hello Zack, Did you have any positive replies on your "Blade owner's quest" ? I do hope that young Marine will one day see your video or hear of your video. I was a little before your's and that "young Marine's" time. 2nd generation 7th Marines, '77-'80 0351. Damn nice knife, hope it makes its way back home. Knives with a story are important especially with all of the needless excess and needless nitpicking of a knife, but to be reminded that it's a tool and a weapon if need be, not a show pony. But the issue now is we'll, then and now, does QC age well? Let me say not always, sadly. God bless

Only thing I am not completely impressed by is the blade serrations. I also knew as soon as you explained how you got it that you would end the video the way you did. Men and women of great character seem to be in short supply these days, and I am glad to know that your kids will see one in action and both be taught what is right as well as see what that looks like in action.

He probably just went and bought another one. Once you own Benchmade you realize it’s as good as it gets. I bought the Benchmade anthem. And for $429 vs $272 for the 940-1 you can feel where that extra money went $429 for a knife is just plain stupid.

I was coming from your mom's house , going to your sisters. Hahaha! Joke joke. I only make joke. Sorry blud. I couldn't help it. I was just going to say it was my knife until you put those details in at the end. Btw and for the record, I'm not a marine. That's not my knife. But we are brothers in arms. I'm a combat veteran ex staff sergeant from US ARMY. ..and I really didn't mean anything derogatory against your mom or sister. I just wanted to sell it by answering like the US MARINES I know and have known. Thanks for posting . I wasn't aware the Presidio was an automatic knife . I thought the only auto they had is that OTF they call the infidel . Idk why they would call it that. I could see them calling it the Fidel, right.? Anyway, if I had to guess where he was coming from and going to, i'd say, 6 years ago, he was coming from Iraq and going to Afghanistan..?

Zack Of All Trades lol.. thanks for your reply. I had forgotten about this comment. I'm glad it was received in the manner it was intended .. I was just talking to a friend about an experience similar to yours. In the first gulf war, we had just taken over the Airport. We met this C130 crew from the New Zealand Air Force. They dropped off a load of British SAS. One of brits left his camera. My buddy and I were wheeling and dealing with the kiwis, about taking us down to Jubail and back to make phone calls. Anyway, the chief comes out smiling and holding the camera the Brit left (mind you, they were still in view, only a quick sprint away. But before he alerted the brits , he unzips his flight suit to expose his "kiwis and banana" and took a quick selfie of his junk, tossed the camera to the next guy who did the same and so on , around the circle . We all got in on it , then the crew chief yells out to the brits, holds up the camera and trots off to deliver it to its rightful owner.. lolol.. Keep in mind, this was a film cam. Pictures were not something we just Clicked off like now. ..and people usually sent undeveloped rolls of film home to have them developed by their parents.. just yo be sure they made it home... lol I apologize if this is inappropriate . I just thought you might appreciate the humor. I'll edit it out if you give me a thumb down.
