charcoal and sodium nitrate (fertiliser often referred to as salt Pete) that equals gun powder. Very easy to make

Wow! that was fun to watch, and what a great event. Plural of a Rocket 🚀 is Rockets 🚀🚀🚀, I think the Beerlao was kicking in by then. 😂🤣. As kids we used to make our own carbon+ powder. 🧨😉 And finally aiming a fireworks rocket at something is much more satisfying than straight up. 😂 / Al

The best start ever for a Sunday morning here in a cloudy RSA :-) after growing up in England 50/60 fireworks are in my blood . some years ago , was tempted into actual production , with my actual explosive back ground sad I stopped :-( Plastic chairs not ideal for a launch pad , sometimes we get tubes to use . The food , Todd getting fed by the girls , the mud wrestling , that wooden action figure was sublime . As for the propellant , actually fairly basic . Mate here made some for a small cannon he made :-) Elton John comes to mind :-) Wonder if the rocket guys would take on a farang to assist in manufacture ? Did I see a few in the crowd and mud ? The Catherine wheel is a feat of engineering :-) Must really consider a vist now , yes , great country , lovely people , maybe a rocket under my chair will get me there next year :-) Wish you all a great week ahead :-)

Happy Father's Day Todd. WOW that wagon wheel rocket looks awesome scary. I had to google it. Gun powder is made of: sulfur, charcoal ( which is mostly carbon) and potassium nitrate (saltpeter). You nailed it. It is the wildest party ever. Stay well.

Great vlog as always Todd! You are right about being bat shit crazy! Those rockets are pretty wild but not as wild as the wrestling in mud! I wish that some of that rain could come over this way to Khon Kaen. Loved the way that Mina said be careful as she took over camera duties while you washed the brolly. You wouldn't want to be under any of those rockets when they come back down to earth. It was good to get there early as you had a prime spot! Thanks for sharing, love to you all, God bless you 😀❤🙏

Haha thanks mate. Yeah, I was up until about 3.30am here following on KZfaq.. until about lap 90 😏 Still doing a bloody great job though. I started watching NASCAR around the time Dale Earnhardt died. Always following Jr then Ambrose. After Ambrose left and Jr retired I lost interest a bit.. SVG has now renewed my interest in it. Great hard racing without the interference of race officials. Will suit Shane to a Tee 👌😉

Hey Todd,, potassium nitrate( bat shit ) sulfer and charcoal is what old time black powder is made of. Modern powder has different nitrates i believe. We also made our hot mix with potassium clorate,,and holy crap,,you could only mix a tiny pile because it was extremely violent,,would blow up in your face if you werent super careful. I haven't messed with that since i was a teenager. The clorate mix packed in a shell with a fuse,,would just shred a brass shell,,turn it into lace. To be honest,,i doubt you can even buy the potassium chlorate anymore. When i was a kid..you could buy it at a drug store,,pharmacy or a farm supply store. I have no idea anymore. Later i helped my Uncles blow up stumps,,and when i worked at the mines i helped fill many a drill hole with regular old fertilizer. Proud of Mina for helping the guy pick up trash. ❤❤👍👍👍 Ttyl,,,Marlon
