Lore accurate Leon moves like the original RE4. Remake Leon is far too nerfed, in both personality and overall ability. The man is supposed to be James Bond/Ninja Assassin level at this point in his life, with all the acrobatics, dexterity, reflexes and martial arts prowess that comes with. Leon in the remake is more like Leon's student or little brother tbh

a lot of mercenaries gameplay start by running around like a chicken collecting timers , and they get mediocre scores , i always started fighting and in between collected timers and i usually get 1.7 to 1.8M

I like the fact that the game ends once enough enemies are killed. The OG made you fight until time was done, even if your combo dropped & there weren't enough enemies left, & sometimes barely gave you enough time to earn that 5 star rank. This is far easier but much more entertaining, especially with the counter ability.

I'm glad to see some of the strategies I learned for myself are also used here, lol. Now I'm itching to play again... I never knew that area behind the barn was so advantageous, but it makes sense, since it provides ample cover from the crossbows and molotovs!

Yes but sometimes, crossbows and dynamites do hit. Rotation is the key. This provides funneling of enemies and then you can take them out easily

Impressive!! I got S+ on Hardcore last night. I saved at almost every typewriter though lol. I dont know how I'm gonna S+ Profesional though... Ashley's armor will help... I will say this has to be the hardest RE to max rank yet! Oh yah it was my first Hardcore run and I finished with 5 hours 28 minutes LOL. Thank goodness i just decided to use the rocket launcher on Sadler! Haven't tried Mercenary mode yet. Going for all the main game stuff first!

If you get an S rank on every mercenary stage which is pretty easy you unlock the handcannon which is a powerful magnum which can be upgraded to have infinite ammo. It made my pro S+ run a lot easier so I highly recommend it.

You can unlock typewriter and use ashley armour. Focus on getting the contracts done and upgrade the typewriter to infinite ammo. After village the game gets easier. For krauser and saddler use rocket launcher. And for cannon ball fight. Use heavy grenades to blast the wall. Thats how I completed professional.

I wish the devs fleshed out mercenaries more considering how much people love this simple mode… I would love to see a more complex system with skills, unlockables, weapon upgrade system etc. give people a little more to do when they wanna devote 1000 hours into it haha

Man, if this is yiu, very nice work! Back in the day, my friends and I were insanly good at Mercenaries when the first one came out on GameCube. We played it for a LONG TIME! We beat it countless times to get all the unlockables, then started on Mercenaries. We eventually got the handcannon. Capcom really killed the replay value by making stuff purchasable or as part of a bundle. I would t have played the older ones nearlynas long if I could just pay a $1 to get the u loadable instead of play for nearly 3 days straight without sleeping so I wouldn't forget anything to get the playtime down to 2:15(Rocket Launcher in Resident Evil 1 Remake GC 2002). Good times! What made it good was that it was new, this kind of game play is common now, but the OG RE4 started it all! The 2002 remake of 1 was great and so was the beefed up version on PC etc. The 2 & 3 remakes were fantastic too, it had been so long and thwy really gave it a good spin and fluff to make it feel great and true to thw original while spicing it up with new mechanics now and then. However, they should have waited to do 4 with the next main game Engine. Same with Code Veronica. I heard talk of a Re-Re Remake of 1 for the 30 year anniversary in 2026, if they used a newer version of the REngine and take their time, if should be great. However, the RE4 Remake felt too much like the original at least as far as the "jump" in presentation. I don't really care how it looks in some respects I would rather play the original on my Wii(motion knife swipe and motion aim make it so much smoother). I was kinda bummed that it wasn't going to be an option. I'm not saying it's bad, it just didn't need to be made yet. They just had like 5± games + DLC come out in short order, and they don't see that different. The action, tone, and pace was contrasted between the 2 & 3 remakes, so they being so similar looking didn't stand out. But then 4 didn't feel like a Remake of 3 as much as the 2/3 games were themed like 4. Just a thought / opinion i figured I would share. Once again, I'm not saying it's bad or stupid. I just think thwy should have waited. Making it later with a better engine/version of engine (for VIIII) and utilizing the new capabilities would have felt more consistent with the progression of the remake releases. It kinda lost momentum for me. I wish I liked it more. End Rant

Honestly, i was scared of playing mercenaries because i was afraid of chainsaw guy. But i started to enjoy. Now chainsaw guy is a joke. Just don’t trap yourself. Keep them in a loop.
