she is a very enjoyable character to play simply because she is responsive as fuck. she has the typical tekken tools like the mid poke df1, fast high pokes (1,1,2), ws punishment (ws4,4). it's just that hers come out so fast. unbelievable satisfying character to play.

Reanimated Greed Thank U, I missed the part where she’s going his monster. She’s sluggish in some of her moves and has the worst launch tools too. Combo damage without the wall is meh too.

@@President_Shin except kazumi doesn't rely those things. Kazumi is a tournament monster because she can pressure without threatening to launch you. She can literally poke you to death.

Very fundamental driven character. Outside of her fly mixups she hasnt really got anything to random you out and her launchers kinda suck so she tends to win by maintaining control and forcing people to respect her sticky offence while she chips away. Always interesting to watch strong Kazumi players at least for me, really hoping she stays as a permanent cast member. It would be nice if they referenced her demon/devil form like they do with Kazuya and Jin instead of it just being a boss only version.

The best way to describe her is that she scales with player skill, similar to mishima characters imo. All characters are like this but for example...An green rank Eddy player is gonna have a much easier time than a green rank Kazumi. She really does not have anything to help a player outside of great fundamental tools. Fly mixups are okay but you cant use them to win reliably. I think its a great character design personally. Also yeah, worst hopkick in Tekken history, the thing wont even hit King's RA on block lol

Other than Spag's tweet, I don't know who even said she was dead in season 2. I saw more tweets about Shaheen being dead. Her Jabs and df1 are the best in the game, complimented by db4(nerfed in s2 used to hit grounded, iirc it was -13 in s1 but not sure).

Frame traps, moved that put some one either in a tech roll situation or in a block stun where if they try to attack they’ll be counter hit and or launched. I’m sure someone will come in with better explanations but that’s a start.

the bf 2,1 string is realy strong if the opp. doesn't techroll. İt's possible to resplat with b4 into 1,2 or get a floorbreak in temple with d2.

Kazumi is an interesting character because none of her mid pokes are better than -3, but her hitboxes are so good that it doesn't matter. Kinda like a mini-Jack. Below average frames on block; insanely good hitboxes.

Now that I think about - if she relies that much on poking you to death, then would Steve be a good pick against her? I assume you do not want to trade pokes with Steve, because of his counter hit tools.

Not really. Steve's b1 is actually quite slow for a high CH tool at 13 frames. The reason why it's so good is because of the incredibly large hitbox. Hence, Steve shines at mid-range where he can abuse the hitbox/small whiff animation to catch approach moves or stuff like EWGFs. Same deal with his df2. The problem with Kazumi is that she has massive range, her moves have relatively minimal knockback and she can stay in large plus frames at point blank range. As a result, she can bully Steve just like anybody else by staying in his face and randomly switching between df1s/jabs, db4s and sidesteps. Where Steve does have an advantage in the match-up is in the proportionally large punish he gets if she lets the df1,2 rip.

Her db4 is the best low??? What about jin who launches on ch and also tracks to the left? She barely has any plus frame moves on block so the only way to build pressure is expecting ur oppenent to be scared of df12 which is super risky to throw out against kazuya, eddy and josie who all have i13 ws launchers. No abusable strings. No gimmicks. A really shite 15 frame launcher in her hopkick. No generic df2 launcher. The one she does have is like death on block and whiff. Weak mix up game and only 1 command grab making it hard to open an opponent. A really good ws12 but an extremely underwhelming ws launcher at 18 frames. Really good wall damage but mediocre combo damage overall. Not many panic tools. Unsafe mid power crush. Now I agree that she is a strong character but she is no way near the likes of jin and steve. Its only arslan who has been able to do extremely well with her in tournament but even he said after evo that he only used kazumi against knee bc kazumi has weaker tools and is less tournament viable than geese. And majority of the people wrote her off in s2 as a weak/dead/low tier character until arslan ash came to the scene. Now she is probably an A tier character but this video exaggerates so much and i believe this video would never have been made if arslan wasn't doing too well with her.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. She's not my main but I hope she wont get nerfed in S3. To me, Kazumi is one of the rare characters, when I lose against, I can just say gg to the player. I believe Kazumi is only strong if you're strong as a Tekken player. She doesnt carry people, no crazy damage, panic moves (the fact that uf2 is high AND minus 14 says a lot) or weird set ups

You’ll just have to outspace a Kazumi with good movement, and work on your low mid mixups and then when you have them guessing throw out those hook kicks and go wild. Watch Shadow vs Arslan at Evo he really makes it work for many rounds.

Kazumi isn't that hard to deal with, when you fight her you pretty much just have to fight the player. If you SSR or use fast CH launchers you can fuck up most spammy Kazumi's that spam 11 1 df1 after one and each other even when they get blocked.

both kazumi and jees are monsters and i wonder if arslan could win evo that easily if he used any character other than these two, i mean i want to see him play some harder characters like bryan or julia and see the outcome

Lol i was wondering that too. But since geese and kazumi are his main, it is not going to happen imo. He has the whole country's tekken pride on his shoulder now, he cant back down to less than top 8 spots, trying out new chars would be a very risky move. Unless of course if he streams though.

It is the frames of the attacks ... when the frames are positive it means the moment is yours and negative the moment is only the opponent, that is roughly speaking. But by chance if you use a blow and get -3 for example you will not be punished for punches are 10 frames ... going in this math if your opponent blocks your blow and -11 , punches 10 frames he punishes you ^ ^

moves have different frames on hit, block, whiff and CH (counter hit). most of the moves offer bigger frame advantage with + frames when the move hits, ofcourse moves can give + frames on block, making it a great move. and when it comes to CH, some moves offer knd (knockdown) or a launch or just better frames. frames determine advantage.

Frame time. As in frame per second. There are 60 frames per second, -5 means 5 frames time lag behind. For comparison, 15f is 0.25 second. -5 means 0.08second slower to react. When people talk about you being -5 and opponent's attack in +10, that means the time it takes for you to fight back needs another 0.08 second to buffer. While your opponent already is 0.25 second faster to land a hit on you. (Adding up your -5 state and his +10f attack, meaning he is 15f ahead of you)

You forgot her 14 frame punisher: 3,2. It's worth around 50 damage.

That's 15f and for a 15f punish it's pretty weak damage.

It's about the hitbox, not their gender lol. Females are obviously smaller, with Xiaoyu being tiny as hell, some combos don't even connect against her. On the contrary, Kuma and Panda are so huge that "bear-specific" combos are a thing.
