You know what I love about Starfield? I can bullsh*t around in the game just making outposts or get lost in building ships or stumble into situations that just organically pull me. I genuinely love this game like I haven’t loved a game in a long time, I get that it just isn’t for some people, but the hate levied against it with it getting review bombed seriously baffles me.

It's because there is no exploration compared to a typical BGS game. The exploration that you have is littered with loading screens in order to jump around. Also, the exploration tasks to scan planets is the most tedious, and un-rewarding, part of the game (Unless you spend upgrade points). The game isn't bad, but the exploration certainly is.

⁠@@DTom4RealYeah, as someone who turns data from surveying into Vlad, the amount of screens I have to go through jumping planets in a single system can be annoying, but the game is worth going through for how vast it is outside of that hinderance imo.

Starfield is one of the best games of all time, but it very much copies the Morrowind philosophy. Which is something that's beloved by one group of players, but disliked by another, which is why you see some people pining for Skyrim now. Exploration wise the game is also very different. You can explore the cities the way you explore the Skyrim world. You end up finding tons of quests, dialogue, etc. But the first city you're introduced to, New Atlantis is not the most inviting for this (though you can actually get around seamlessly without the train if you use the boostpack, something many people don't know). It's actually Neon and Akila City which are most fun to explore in this way. On the other hand planets in Starfield are like houses in Skyrim. Most of them don't have that much that's interesting unless you are trying to do something specific for a certain build and have actually spent the perks for it. But you can usually tell which ones are going to be relevant for the important quests. When you add the fact that the game has a long and flawed intro sequence with few tutorials in favor of player discovery to the standard TDS (Todd Derangement Syndrome) floating around on KZfaq, I understand why this is such a controversial game, even if I think it is probably one of Bethesda's best.

Is a bad game, even if you like it 🤷‍♂ I get that it doesn't deserve a review bombing of zeroes, but to be fair and being too permissive with the game, it isn't more than a 6, I would give it a 4 in my opinion, probably. The game is being labeled as a triple AAA experience being selled for 80$ and as such I rate it, it isn't worth that price and it isn't a triple AAA title regarding quality + the game is too outdated and janky in many aspects, apart of being rigged with bugs.

Helpful tip after commendeering a ship: If you open the menu and select lower left (inspect ship section) you can view the ship you're currently in, there you also have the option to make it your home ship (H), register the ship (G) and then repair the ship (R). Easy way to get back on your feet in your new ship quickly. Also, if you want to continue using your own ship after taking over a new one, if you're quick enough you can dock with your ship and just hop into the pilot seat and make it your home ship via the same method mentioned above.

Awesome missions and gameplay. I really have been enjoying this game, especially the UC Vanguard questline. And the random ship encounter who sings "space" sea shanties. Incredible! Its not for everyone, but its just what i was hoping for.

I know some will say it's not healthy and what not, but on the 6'th of January this year i went to work night shift which is 12 h shift. I came home in the morning on 7'th yesterday and decided to redo my character so i made new one and i stayed playing till this morning when i left for my day shift which is another 12h. I plan to play this evening untill i literally fall asleep in my comfortable chair. And than I'll continue again tomorrow when i wake up until i go again to night shift. 216 h of recorded playtime as of this morning. All in all that's how much i love this game, i love her even over all of the games i purchased in the past 10 years or so. I even compleated buying the latest and only dlc for Cyberpunk and it's collecting dust. It's not a space game simple as that. And to all of the criticism how people wanted but can't pilot their own ship to land and descend it's not space sim. Starfield is space rpg, different setup all together. I am a space sim nerd and i know the difference between space simulator like Star Citizen and or Elite Dangerous and space roll playing game as Starfield. Because there are great many differences in game ganra. That said this game is perfect for me because i can be who ever i want to be, play as bounty hunter, tax collector like this man, space trucker doing passanger runs and cargo runs at the same time, lots of fast money there and xp. And my favorite corporate espionage which i haven't seen the like. You could say there is something for everyone, but i enjoy all the content at once. Cheers all and happy holidays.

one good thing about persuasion is that if you successfully add one persuasion point then you will always get another try, so say you need 4 points, you use up your 3 turns and succeed each of them, leaving you with 3/4, then you will *always* get a 4th try to attempt getting that final point

8:00 One of the reasons I bought a better reactor asap because your speed here is like 32. Enemies seem to keep a lot of power in their engines and boosting jacks up your speed by a lot. Throwing your engines down to 2 power works as long as you have weapons with like 4,000 range you can switch to when they fly away. Or get a better reactor so you can keep more engine power to chase them

Please Bethesda add a rover. Let it be given to us through a quest or from an in game purchase at the ship techs. Allow us to be able to have a bit of customization options and please make a ship module that carries your rover so we can have the option to walk out our ship like we do now or use another exit that we can drive out of. Its ok if the rover isnt allowed in settlements. Its cool. If no ship module at least some sort of strap outside your ship so you can see it under your ship while flying. Thank you.

It would be cool but tbh after seeing the mod that allows you to fly between planets in starfield, i get why they thought it would be acceptable to just make going between planets a cutscene. Whats funny is for all the comparison to no mans sky, people who actually play no mans sky say that flying between planets is the most boring part of the game. Flying ON a planet would be cool but would definitely be unbalanced since you could just airstrike everything

I would love a game like starfield based on "the expanse" where relative velocity to the body you are orbiting actually matters, ships are built like skyscrapers because the only artificial gravity you have is constant thrust, bullets and missiles actually move at speeds that make sense and where the only faster than light travel are ancient alien portals that you have to find and travel to.

Have you heard of Children of a Dead Earth? It's ultra faithful to realistic physics. It's just space combat though, no RPG or free traversing. Still great at scratching that Expanse-like itch!

@@garretthorton163 the physics is the only similarity unfortunately. You don't even really get to fly the ship, it's just button presses to execute maneuvers. I think the appeal of an expanse game would be the rpg aspect and the free-roaming exploration of the solar system and all of it's colonies.

I had this issue where any npc i was supposed to talk to would immediately yurn hostile. . Turns out i had a bounty on me from a faction causing this. I had to go to the den or some other uncontested station and go to the bounty board at the bar and clear it by paying some credits.

Maybe you have to spec your skills or research first, but I think you can build your own Bounty Board at your Outposts and homes.

I am with you.. been meaning to get my hands on a Mass effect like game for years but with a story and yet liberty to explore.. I thought NMS was it but the grind and no story or sense or purpose killed it right away and also bc it’s too cartoonish, not much into the cartoonish visuals, now this is where Starfield bridged that gap. A bit of a NMS, ME and a story.. just a nice blend. Although Inwas still bummed out with no land vehicles, or at least be able to take off and land manually, I am thinking at least that wasn’t much to ask. Don’t mind the fast travel to other planets, and systems as that can get very monotonous and repetitive after a while.. C’mom Bethesda and modders, let us at least take off/land a small little rover Lol. Nonetheless I am really enjoying the adventure!

Best alternative to land vehicles is maxing out your boost pack perks and assigning an alternate jump key on pc so the boost pushes you forward rather than up. You can cover a lot of ground really quick that way.

@@ivanwm2513 no UNLIKE any good open world RPG. Maybe like crappy open world titles like ac valhalla lol. Good open world games have a good and big main story, nice and engaging side quests and loads of exploration that doesnt feel repetitive. Starfield has absolutely none of that lol. The faction quests are a snoozefest. The main story even more so. The exploration is running through empty deserts with proc gen poi‘s you have to run towards for 10 minutes with a scanner and the itemization and perk system is next to non existent cuz of how boring and flat it is.

Deep Undercover, Terrormorphs, and even the main Story was interesting for me as well, though I accept I am bit of a space and NASA enthusiast so the game hit the mark for me. I did not need constant events, like fights, cut scenes with heavy exposition or other events to have fun. That said, losing Sarah on my first play through hit harder and felt worse than losing a Mass Effect companion for some reason. Walking around the martian surface, searching the dust-covered Opportunity and robotic explorer while a dust storm took place was a great experience, as well as the platforming bounty hunter mission on Mars. Sometimes, all I need a barren world looking cool with the illumination, music and I get fun out of that. Searching for planet anomalies and discovering them had some memorable moments as well, like finally finding one after being down to one heal item to remove hypothermia or other affliction. There problems though, but I think these are more pacing problems due to the limitations of the engine than content problems or script ones. To each their own however. Some find the game terrible, some find it great. None is more right or wrong than the other. We all like and enjoy different things.

@@ivanwm2513 we can agree to disagree i guess. the problem is that the overall reviews are shit though, so i guess im not alone. 80% if the youtube reviews say the game is bad or pretty lackluster/bland/flat and it is and nobody can tell me that it's just "a trend" to shit on the game for no reason, nobody shits on a game if it's good. nothing has real depth in starfield. to settle for this in 2023 is an expectation problem i'd say. it's been 7 years and i see absolutely 0 upgrades from fo4. have fun though, not trying to convince anyone, just dont like if people try to hide the obvious.

There is armor with neon green! Cydonia Spacesuit Having ammo problems? Pick up every gun off those you kill. They all give a full clip of ammo for that gun. Then if you don't want to keep or sell those weapons, just drop them before you leave or on the last body or something. If you go into any mission or outpost at minimal weight(dump the stuff you want to save like resources into your ship before starting), you'll usually be able to clear that area without becoming encumbered. If you start getting close to max weight, then dump on a body half-way through.

I am loving Starfield. I'm also taking my time and doing a whole bunch of side favoures and helping out the common folk with problem solving. I really do hope at some time in the future that modders will impliment the ability for seemless planetary traversal as well and planetary surface flying and walking, as well as "lunar vehicles".

Flight within a system from planet to planet is possible and proven. Seamless landing and atmospheric flight probably never. Vehicles... Bet your bottom dollar mechs are DLC. Probably the very first DLC.

I don't think that is possible with this version of Starfield. Because the planets are instanced and not actually there in the universe. But flying in the atmosphere could be possible but highly doubt it since the instances are so small in comparison to what you would be traversing them in. Now vehicles would be cool, even if they are slow golf cart like crafts that can be deployed from your ship. Or just an ATV or UTV would be awesome. I hope I'm wrong about landing on planets seamlessly from space, but I don't think it can be done.

The Galbank collection missions are among the quests that are still broken for me. Can't complete 3 different questlines, game crashes every hour - but at least no one can steal from puddle chests anymore! Bethesda priorities!

You guys DO have canned bacon, i once had an apt and the guy next door was from canada and he gave some but i didnt have a skillet so i unrolled it from the parchment seperating it and baked it in the oven and made blts with it, there was more in the can than a regular pack and it was quality stuff.

Thanks Bethesda for giving us Skyrim, Fallout 4 and now Starfield Gamers need games that last long and draw them in for 100s of hrs It’s like a drug addict needs drug I spent 1000 hrs in fallout 4 modded it for 2 yrs with 300 mods , cleared corvega atleast 50 times Now I will play Starfield for years

Reral bountyhunting would be cool - make use of those brig hab options but I don't think that's in the game... yet.

Stealth works pretty good. I stealth with followers all the time. Turrets use IR or some such because you cant stealth past them at all.

You missed the purple bits to Buzz Lightyear's space suit. I've literally _(3 hours ago.)_ met the first Bounty Hunter who's after me. But I had an advantage on my side. I'd just built by first "B" class ship. 4 lasers and 4 EMP's on the front and 2 laser turrets on each side. But I can't remember the rest of the specs 8-((... So when I encountered this Bounty Hunter, he decided not to attack me _(I may have intimidated him, somewhat!)._ But him and his buddy warped out of the system and left me alone 8-))...
