Friday of the Fourteenth Week in Ordinary Time

MT 10:16-23
Jesus summoned his Twelve disciples
and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out
and to cure every disease and every illness.
The names of the Twelve Apostles are these:
first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew;
James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;
Philip and Bartholomew,
Thomas and Matthew the tax collector;
James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus;
Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot
who betrayed Jesus.
Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them thus,
“Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town.
Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”

I understand that there are wolves out there, and I have at times been one myself, but I don't consider myself as a sheep, but more of a sheep dog, trying to protect the sheep. Father I'm not sure if this is because I chose Saint Michael The Archangel as my Guardian Saint, but I've always felt a desire to be protective.

I can relate to your words however for me I think I was/ can still be , seeking a sense of control and a sheep dog has more control than a sheep . May we learn to accept that loving God does not make us passive wimps . Blessings to you n yours .

You said ‘Catholics be aware there are wolves around’ Sometimes we can the wolves we are talking about. And here is an example, a Catholic who has been a seminarian, a Monk of the Beatitudes Community and a Franciscan Friar. In 2013, he became the Foreign Minister of a 60-year-old dynastic tyranny in West Africa, Togo to be more precise. In that status, he also became the chief negotiator for countries of Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific, in the framework of their cooperation with the European Union. Luke4:18 said to free the captives. With all these experiences he had the opportunity to lived in Catholic environments, the Seminary, the Monastery, the Franciscan Friars, the only place he see hope and purpose is to dwell in the arms of a tyranny that represents death and suffering, deprivation and misery to millions of others on earth. And for that he is the chief negotiator for millions of others from several continents.
