1974 Lauda's pole lap was 1:35:40 and this lap was 1:12:19. 23 seconds faster!!

Aerodynamics makes the difference today. We really need to see a lap in that Sweden circuit where Lauda drove the Brabham vacuum car and compare his faster lap

1987 pole was 1:23.357. But there was a chicane in place of first corner. And 1986 pole was 1:23.549. So the lose was almost 5 seconds, id not more.

As much as I love this layout it would be pretty dull racing with today's cars, and the modern circuit is a good compromise, despite it being a bit short.

I love this layout. I still think this layout, with one or two chincanes, would be ideal for today's F1. Today's shorter layout in my opinion is better suited for MotoGP than F1. Great lap 👍👏👏

They should really restore it. That side straight is still there. With a dense tree line side of it, it would be very scenic and very dynamic.

Use the monza setup with longer gears and less wing. You are maxing out at 338 kph. Monza set up was 353kph.

There was, though I'm not sure how much everyone would gain from it. The track would be lengthened by about 800 metres but apart from that the layout would be very similar, except T2 would probably become a sweeping righthander, resulting in one less overtaking spot on a track with already very few places to overtake. Also a downside for spectators at T1 is they'd see less of the track, since there'd be a huge hill in the way.

Shame this track is no longer used because today's F1 cars are so fast that it would make pretty much no difference in lap times. Plus this track could give more action and suspense than the layout we have today.

They need to change the track layout, whether it be to combine parts of the Osterreichring with the current Red Bull Ring or even use the GT chicane to just break up the triple DRS straights
