@swedish asian femboy 🇸🇪 On public roads it doesn’t matter how good a car corners if the driver is horrible and either corners slow like a grandma or causes an accident because they were trying to drive too fast and went off road or failed to maintain their lane through a blind corner and cause a head on collision.

Only time a 6 will keep up with a 1000 is in corners. And now days 1000 are just a tiny as a 6 just bigger motors. He was having problems in the corners keeping up with them.

1000 cc bikes are heavier which makes it hard to control in curves which forces them to go slower , similarly 600 is lighter and faster in curves

1000s are faster but heavier while 600s are a lil slower but more nimble and agile so you always see the 1000cc bikes flying at the 2 straights but the 600 dominating the curves

There's about a 60-70 horsepower difference, and the weight is about 30 pounds heavier. Still, the 1L bikes are 425-435 pounds curb weight which isn't that much. More weight is always an enemy in the curves, but you can't have your cake and eat it too, unless you're riding MotoGP bike.

Yes I noticed the slow down at the apex too. That was a clever defensive move. But those late brake passes were brilliant to watch.

I am not totally sure these were intentional as you can see that his (the guy ahead) corner lines are not smooth (you can see it when current rider is not just behind him)

@@H-to-O if it isn’t that much faster why is motogp lap times faster than moto2 that use 765cc engines, for the avg joe a 600cc bike is better for the track but if u have skill and are a experienced rider a 1000cc is just as good as a 600cc or even better. Just because u can’t ride a 1000cc as good as ur 600cc dosnt mean others can’t aswell people are just more skilled 😭

It’s much harder to keep both wheels on, out of the turn on the 1000cc. That’s why most of the pass are from accelerating out of the turn.

Regardless of size, all bikes lean at the same angle for a given speed. It’s the same with power wheelies. They will all lift the front shell above a certain acceleration. That’s why they can’t compete with sports cars.

Actually, no and I hate to do the actually, but the smaller cc bikes are so more manoeuvrable in the corners, the big bikes better on the straights. I had a 400cc and used to go out with the guys from work who all had 1,000'+ they would leave me on the straights then we got to the fun twisty bits and I would scream through the pack while they threw the anchor out to make this next corner. You want handling 400-600, you want straight power speed 1000+. As I was told any idiot can do 150mph+ in a straight line, but straight lines are not where the fun is. We can brake later and overtake on the left on right corner because our bikes are so nimble to do that, if the track was all corners and twists a 400 would win, a straight line a 1300 GSXR hiyabusa all day long.

@@andikaletoy2801 20 yrs on sport bikes has taught me that a 600 is nowhere near 1 second faster on entry or mid corner. This guy is gaining that . Are you gonna tell me with your expert opinion that a 600 is this much quicker yet still when you look at damn near every track in the world the fastest laps are always 1000’s . ? An expert rider will be faster or almost as fast on a 1000. Notice I wrote “hardly” indicating that it’s “hardly” much different. I stand by my opinion. I’m not new to this world of track days, racing, riding world.

Dunno why everyone keeps saying this lol. Guaranteed almost every if not every rider there pushes their 1000cc to the traction limit in every corner. 600cc is just more nimble and can do it faster. Also you can definitely push the 600 too hard and lose it too.

Ride an older 10 speed pedal bike with the old Weinmann center pull brakes Build up those hand/finger muscles... I did from 1970, 2020... Motor bikes 1966 - 1976.... J.C. Age 73....

Spend some time in the gym developing your legs, core (abs and back). If you are anchored to the bike (legs squeezing the tank, core muscles engaged, and weight the outside peg when cornering), you won't have much weight/strain on your wrists. In fact, you shouldn't have any weight on the grips. Your grip on the bar should be as light as cradling two baby birds in your hands. It's a magic feeling when you're able to ride a bike correctly.

That is not a problem if your ergo set correctly and you have proper body positioning. That is purely from bad lessons learned in riding and managing weight properly.

That logic certainly applies to snowmobiles and MX. But pavement allows for a way more forgiving tolerances. You aren’t battling for traction. You don’t have to be great on pavement to be fast. I went from untouched in MX unless they had 3x the money, to supermoto where it more or less comes down to YOUR grip of your rubber. Much easier.

@@CJRSBK Depends on the track... We have two tracks around my town. The larger, faster track lap record belongs to the 1000 but the smaller, tighter track's lap record is held by a 600.

Reminds me of the Mini vs Yank Tank battles around Goodwood…..down the straights the Yank Tanks pull away with ease…but then have to brake way sooner allowing the tiny Mini to catch up and fly past in the corners…only for the YTs to repeat the process in the straights again lol Great fun as a spectator, even more so as a driver I’d imagine 😂

Thats because bigger bikes are best on the straight but can't turn for sh!t, smaller bikes can dance through the pack but don't have that straight line power.

@@Delalcon dude, he might not be bad, but he says it himself on the video if i remeber correctly, the lower weight is a huge advantage in braking and cornering since a lighter frame/engine allows the rider more control over the bike, and when it comes to bikes 10Kgs are notizable just like 100 is on cars

I hear you. My older CBR 600 was a lot easier to play with on windy roads than my current ride, a Yamaha 900 triple. It just doesn't corner as efficiently and cleanly as that 600 did. Then again... Supersport VS sport.

Man ain’t that the truth. I use to destroy 1000s on my 04 GSXR600. Road the Tail of the Dragon 🐉 (AKA) Deals Gap 318 turns in 11 miles. I Won a lot of money being the far more technical rider. Ride your ride, ride safe two wheels on highway. Peace Gents!!!

@Dverial I still ride the 07 R6. I was planning on selling the bike but I'm just having to much fun with it :) And just like you said, you can smoke 95% of the 1000 bikes on a regular trackday.

I had an 03 r6. Man I loved that thing. I'll never forget a drag race against my buddy's 1200 Harley. We were dead even off the line, and I let the clutch out fully at about 40. Bike went 12 o clock. Tapped the tire down and hit 2nd. 12 o clock, touch, 3rd, 12 o clock, I look over and he's looking at me with his mouth hanging wide open. Man, was my adrenaline going after that

Can you explain to a not motorcyclist, why the 600 scares you but the 750 doesn’t?

@@gilmadrid6322 The 600 is lighter. When I was riding, I was 5"8 155. Those guys that ride are at least 6"2 and at the very least 20 pounds heavier. They can get on top of the bike, I couldn't, but I knew where to tuck to make up for it. I know it sounds weird, but weight distribution is huge. So for me, the 750 was the most comfortable . I had the 90 GXSR 750 and that bike fit me like a glove. I felt bad for the pros because they were almost riding a trike.

Yes it perform better but, if a pro rider ride a 1000cc vs a 600cc with a pro rider also. 1000cc always win

GSXR 750 is probably the best of both worlds on the track. Also a triple is amazing. I had an FZ09 and the torque was just insane considering the engine.

So, correct me if I'm wrong. Definitely had your line of travel at 16:00 min. and he pulled away still. That was the head shake, yes? So have to stay with him and wait for your line to allow you to pass him in the future? I could tell you became more comfortable because you started to lean more in turns. I think this is helpful in seeing good maneuvers for passing, or gaining speed for the next few turns alike. I struggle with getting a line, keeping the line, not seeing others and focusing on them. Staying focused on the road, the air, the vehicle is hard. I think, really think that I am seeing the driver struggle a bit too? Maybe I'm just untrained still. Which is fine, I would like to hear more of what is going on and understand more. Thank you

I was taught, from an early age, "if you aren't scared enough to be cautious, you're about to lay it down". I have always kept that in mind going from 500cc to 750cc to 1000cc. Anytime I started feeling like I was in complete control (so comfortable that my mind wondered), I upgraded. You are correct, from my experience; it isn't always a good thing.

i agree for road bikes but not for MotoGP bikes. if you look at Assen race in 2002, Rossi was toying with Barros on the 990cc RC211V and Barros was on the 500 NSR. the track was a very fast flowing track back then. he was following him in the corners and sandbagging on the straight for the whole race and passed him only 2 or 3 laps from the end. 25kg and 40hp difference between the 2 bikes. the difference with road bikes is in the weight distribution and engine inertia because MotoGP bikes engines run backwards which cancels a big amount of inertia. making the 990cc as flickable as the 500.
