Why did they think the guts system was a good idea?? All the normals at the start before axl bomba did more dmg than the rest of the combo. Makes no sense

That isn’t just the guts system, all fighting games have damage scaling that reduces the damage done at set numbers of hits until it plateaus. It’s a balancing thing stopping every combo doing insane damage and, along with forced move proration, forces players to not just rely on like 2 combos for every move they land. This is especially important with Axl since his damage and best combos change lots depending on what move he hit you with or if it was a counter hit.

@@axelgiambra8263 well I would argue that happy is not really a zoner. He used to be it, because he was unbalanced on release, but right now pros are using him more like a mixup machine...which makes sense for a character with an inbuilt side switch
