This is the story behind why Bob Ross would never scream or shout at people. Why Bob Ross always was so calm and positive.
It all came from his time in the military where he would constantly be angry at people. One day he had enough and quit and started painting happy little trees. This completely changed his life.

He never yelled, except for that one time he was screaming at the business partners who stole his name, his art and left nothing for his family. This absolute legend deserved better.

Wholesome theory: Instead of Bob being a serial killer, and his paintings being the places he hid dead bodies, those places were actually his favourite fishing spots, as one of his quotes is "this looks like a good fishing spot"

He was an air force Drill during Vietnam at that. Spent 20 years in Alaska after never seeing snow in his life. Retired a Drill Sgt said he’d never yell again. His old formers didn’t even recognize him. He grew the Afro to make a point. He actually didn’t care for it.

Bob Ross never served in Vietnam! He did invent the knack for easy painting techiniques for aspiring artists. Ross enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at 18 years old. In 1961, 18-year-old Ross enlisted in the United States Air Force and was put into service as a medical records technician. He rose to the rank of master sergeant and served as the first sergeant of the clinic at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, where he first saw the snow and mountains that later appear as recurring themes in his paintings. He developed his quick painting technique during brief daily work breaks. Having held military positions that required him to act tough and mean, "the guy who makes you scrub the latrine, the guy who makes you make your bed, the guy who screams at you for being late to work," Ross decided he would not raise his voice when he left the military. He retired from the Air Force in 1981 as a master sergeant. Ross was noted for his permed hair, which he ultimately disliked but kept after he had integrated it into the company logo. *No business partners screwed him over and no he was not a serial killer.* Ross created his own problems, several marriages, infidelities that cost him greatly in divorce proceedings andthe final straw, smoking, which killed him in the end. That's it. Everything else in the comments sections outside of this is misinformation!

Lets face it, the service did wonders for Bob! "For those who lived in combat it destroyed them, for those who avoided it, it took them places on the outside." Barely 10% of all service members enter combat. The largest branch of the military to enter into combat is the ARMY! It's always about the Marines, not the Army service members dying in the greatest numbers for our country as the first to go into combat ❤️🖖🪖🖖❤ "To die in war is heroic, to survive in war complex"
