Many yrs ago in late 90s. I paid my insurance monthly. But my tags was suspended because of no insurance. I went to the office. It showed i had paid. Later, their secretary was stealing money form customers. It was a huge mess. I had to take a penalty of 30days no tags. Even though everyone know what had happened. There was nothing the system could do to correct it. It cost me money. But i parked the car and asked for rides to work. Walked. It does happened.

For the second one.. NEVER have I seen just a plate been suspended without the whole car being not registered and I've had about 4 cars in my young life. You have to tow the car but LEAVE the plate cause he has valid insurance.. But isn't the plate the thing that's suspended? So wouldn't you take the plate, log it and have him so poof all the BS was handled through the state than get his plate back? Like shit that confused me the cops trying to give out that BS, like come on

If he just bought the car, and the plates came with the car, how did the plates get the suspension for mandatory insurance? They never explajned it to him. I believe they had insurance. I went through something similar. Never had a lapse and to this day do not know why the cop or his computer said I did. I didn’t act like a fool though. Kept my cool and went to my insurance agent. I got the paperwork. Went to the DMV and they handed me my plates back no money paid. Crazy shit, but I can attest it does happen. Cops and their computers do make mistakes.

To be fair, we've had to call for a supervisor for cops a couple of times before because their boys were way too aggressive and prejudice. One time the supervisor gave buddy treatment to the person who was technically in the wrong (our neighbor, whom we were fighting with); and the other time the supervisor told his man to get his head out of his ass (he actually said that) because he was way over the line. Calling for a more experienced and higher up person does work sometimes. It really depends on things like how corrupt your department is. Our area is fairly corrupt, so it's a real toss-up.

They only could get her on the car situation not obstruction cause its not obstruction to not open up the home to a bunch of officers without them having the proper stuff. Doesn't mean that you actually broke that law and the judges and attorneys will have thrown that out instantly. Dont bother explaining what somone is charged with. Only what they are convicted of. Second one is actually kinda sad because yeah they can cancel and or suspend your registration or insurance at anytime and they don't have to reach out to you first. They consider it up to the owner to keep checking their stuff to make sure its all in order. But who is going to go through all that on a regular basis like each day? Unless you know that you have done something wrong that could cause it you think it's ok. But yeah if you have let it lapse or whatever else and they suspended it you cant just pay the fines and all and assume everything is ok. It actually clearly states that even after paying the fines or whatever else thy still obtaine th rught to not reinstate or not suspend it. So you do it all in hope that they will clear it up for you but they dont have to at all and its up to you to go and check your registration, insurance and drivers license. Honestly believe that they should have to contact you but nope. Its not uncommon at all you think you fixed your issues with paying fees ect but they still dont reinstat it then many months or even years go by without you knowing then you go to update stuff and find out of worse like this you get pulled overr and find out. But yeah you absolutely can get insurance while its being processed if insurance was suspended for more than so many days its suspends the registration and you have to get new registration and tags. But you might easily not know that if you think you paid in time but they didn't process it in time or didn't do it at all.
