The medical system and illness/sickness in DayZ is difficult to master. But one of the biggest mistakes comes from tetracycline and how to cure yourself in DayZ. This video explains why!

Gas poisoning can also be cured with 3-5 non-tainted blood transfusions

Tetracycline can cure the gas sickness if it’s only in stage one but stage 2 and 3 you need a pox vial or blood from an outside source. You’d think this guy would know that

Yesss, so many people never mention that you can cure it with a blood bag. I found it out on my own on accident just trying to not bleed out and noticed it!! I carry a blood bag at all times now its mandatory, in my opinion they way better than saline ivs too. Instant blood, instant cure to a couple things, just great overall!

Tetra can not cure gas poisoning at any stage. Only clean blood and po-x can. Tetra is on an entirely different system all together and will have no effect.

@@AlwaysStreams lol just looked it up and confirmed from multiple sources that you can in fact cure gas poisoning in stage 1 with tetracycline. I suggest you spend a little time today looking into it yourself

Adding to the gas disease, it can also be dispelled by using a blood bag, once or twice.

yes this saved my life so many times, adding onto this you obviously need the blood to be compatible and from someone who doesn’t have the gas poisoning

When you’ve played dayz for so long you’ll start to transcend the basic survival tips and you won’t even visit med locations anymore. Just avoid the things that make you sick and you’ll never need meds

My player was sick for the first three hours. I had plenty of multivitamins, tetracycline and codeine, yet I was still sick and sneezing. After going through about 20 pills of tetracycline and multivitamins, I drank a single can of Cola and voilà I was cured 😂😂

I'm not sure if it actually has an effect but I heard oncelong ago that if you get sick and are wearing a mask or pick up a mask from a sick guy it will make you and keep you sick. I only ran into a situation like your once and I was wearing a mask, took it off and was better shortly after. Not sure if that's what really fixed it but to this day I still drop masks if I have gotten sick in them lol

You don't always have to drink until you throw up. There is also the option to vomit.

But it still cures most common illnesses like the flu and infections. Those two got me way more often than any of the other. You can avoid the others but if you have bad luck, don't find warm clothing, it's night and raining you will get ill or if you run out of bandages, start bleeding and use an unclean rag to stop bleeding you almost certainly get wound infection. They both are cured by tetra. Of course one should not rely on it but it is still an important item imho.

Do people actually get sick from eating spoiled food? Why are y’all doing that lol. I have like 10k hours got food poisoning maybe once or twice and quickly learned my lesson. How is this something that happens consistently

You can eat rotten food slowly, some people eat it too fast. It’s useful to still eat rotten fruit and mushrooms
