Gwenpool would be a good card to randomly get in Arishem.

The Ceiling is hitting mysterio 3 times, each of the 3 mysterio get +2 power, wich means +18 to a base 2 cost 4 power mysterio.

Psylocke and Zabu exist for a reason

One thing second dinner has taught us with Gilgamesh is, if she sucks, they'll buff her and nerf her competitors, so she will probably find a home. I think some sort if handbuff Sera surfer is where she likely ends up.

Handbuff archetype is a thing imho. Gwenpool, Phastos, Nakia, Okoye, Forge + Mysterio, Shaw, Brood, Sinister, AbsMan, Iron Lad + Gilgamesh. There was a deck one year ago that did ok, and we probably reached a critical enough mass of buff givers and receivers to make it a thing. It's kinda combo, if you draw sucks you will die to good cards, but I think consistency is finally enough. Go super wide and tall with Gilgamesh. Howard might be worth it just for Lad, if Lad receives a buff and copies Brood or Sinister the tempo would be insane.

The card will be good in zoo decks, or cheap cost decks. You literally can pump it all into one card easily or all of them in which you will have the energy to play it. Example: you dump all your cheap cards and have just Gwen in your hand and Captain Marvel. Minus Shang Chi you have 11 power swinger at end of game. Or Sebastian Shaw you would do this too.

So what I'm hearing is to wait until an OTA/Patch comes around to buff the season pass card (like how Gilgamesh went) or wait until someone builds a deck that unlocks the potential of the card.

Never underestimate the deck builders in this community. That being said, seems like a wait and see card to me. However, it is a season pass card and i always get the season pass

I'm excited for her in black panther, thanos, and most importantly bounce. Her hitting kitty, sage, grandmaster, or literally anything in bounce is too good

I think putting her in sera control or a last turn flood deck is ideal where you don't care what she hits but just could use a little extra power

Because of the mysterio synergy this could be a big boost for hit monkey decks.

The way I see it, this new season will just like Black Swan where the card can only be seen for weekend missions and are replaceable in the decks it works with as they are often tight already. Those variants in the track though, fire. Anyway, buy season passes if you can whether the new card is good or bad because you always win with the resources. Guaranteed buff also if the card does not see much play.

i honestly think this card may be better than we expect. im thinking a bounce/hand dump/galactus deck. get all the shit on the board, bounce it for a few turns to pump it and abuse on reveals, play gwen with preferably just galactus in hand. draws will probs be an issue and i doubt its super consistent but im thinking itll be a fun deck. looking forward to dropping an 11 power galactus

Doubling is the best possible return on that investment, so she could go in a Black Panther, Shuri list. Daken, Killmonger, Surfer list would be a way to go harder on the plus stats build you mentioned. Other doublers I can think of are Deadpool and Human Torch, but four costs are hard in both those archetypes. With old Zabu or as 3 cost, this card would be ridiculously strong, but agree with your overall thoughts, generally weak but not unplayable. Like if it was generated by Arishem, I’d consider playing it turn 3 to scare my opponent.

Man I wish Panther was a viable target for the deck buff archetype but he feels so weak as a base. I hope SD would throw him a bone as 5 power, then using him as the buff receiver alongside shaw, brood and Iron man might feel good. What if using the third deck you swapped iceman for howard and went full Iron Lad Jubilee? The potential to pull out something buffed from Phastos or to lad into a surfer seems like it could come together.

This doesn't feel like a combo card to me. It feels like a generically good card that might fit in a deck that does generically strong things. My first thought is a Blink Tech deck that plays her on 4 and blinks her into a Sera. Then your cheap 3 cost tech cards all come down on turn 6.

I was waiting for a card for an all in Swarm combo deck, but I dont think is viable yet, even with gwenpool.

Might we see the rebirth of zabu? Probably not he was nerfed into oblivion. But I do see ramping her out on 3 with zabu or psylocke that's probably the best for her. Will I get her? Maybe I do think she had potential of being very fun and awesome card

I think if you just have a low card deck. Hybrid bounce you can get all the cards you want down. Then gwenpool whats left in hand, bounce and then play?? Move could use her also with HT/dagger and MM getting solid buffs But yeah probably just stuck in makari surf

One combo I thought about while watching is putting her in a Modok + Hela list, with Invisible Woman. Whether it’s actually a good idea is another story 😂

I was thinking maybe a dracula dump/hand manipulation type deck, where you try to play out all of your cards, Dracula on 4, gwenpool on 5 with hopefully one card in your hand that gets plus 6 and gets discarded by dracula.

i think gwenpool is amazing, she's perfectly balance, good power, good flexibility, good combo potential. it's not strong enaugh to build around, but it's strong enaugh to be the missing piece of an existing deck

What about the most favorite archetype, DESTORY! You see if Deadpool,nimrod, death,sabertooth,x23 and more all allow a repeatable or exponential advantage in a mirror match or stronger

Totally agree with you, I don’t think Gwen will end up been good if SD doesn’t buff her. Phastos just teaches us that no matter how good it looks on theory, only the power you put on the board is real. And we have Ms.Marvel that is a 4/14 with easier condition than Gwen, and people don’t even call Ms.Marvel strong now! So it’s really hard to believe that Gwen will be a good card. My thought on Gewn is that maybe Magik is an option cause you will have more turn to play out the buffed cards. However, my prediction is that SD will need to buff her to trigger 4 times to make her good enough.

It might be mid, but i think itll be a cult hit since it makes pet cards like Multiple man, Black panther, discard wolverine, shaw, Black swan,nimrod, etc. better. It and Kate will be fun together tho

I’m gonna throw Gwen into a sandman deck. She’ll be able to give cards like Jeff, doctor doom, makarri, brood, captain marvel, and other cards. It’ll allow for me to get just a little bit more power on the board that final turn that the opponent misses out on

A common trend with many Marvel Snap content creators is they take an existing deck, swap out one card with an upcoming release and call it a new deck. This is really lazy deckbuilding in my opinion. I always theorycraft from the ground up to attempt to feature the new/patched card(s) rather than find existing decks the card fits into. Mysterio, Brood, Mr. Sinister, Multiple Man, Swarm, Nimrod, Sebastian Shaw, Black Panther, Iron Man, Beta Ray Bill, Daken, Human Torch, Deadpool and sometimes Nico Minoru are on the list of current cards that could benefit more from if their power is buffed. Mystique, Absorbing Man and Iron Lad are on a secondary list that can synergize well with power buffs depending on what deck inclusions are used from the first list. It isn't necessarily a trap to use Wong with Gwenpool, but likely Psylocke and Zabu have to be included to get Wong out early because turn 5 Gwenpool probably doesn't give enough time to play out the buffed cards. For curve constraints, Absorbing Man and Grandmaster instead of Wong seem like a better fit with Gwenpool. Patriot appears to be the shell most people would first gravitate to as it plays the most percentage of the cards that perform well when buffed. For me however, Multiple Man is something I always want to experiment with. Hulkbuster is willing to take the Gwenpool buffs and then apply them to Multiple Man.

For me, the Ability is broken if only she is 3 cost or less card. Turn 4 is too late to use that benefit, i would rather play Phastos, who can also reduce cost randomly. Even with Zabu and Psylocke, it's not guaranteed we get what we need in hand.

Huh personally I think pretty good since the average 4-cost is pretty bad, put Gwenpool in Arishem deck and it will likely be great.

There hasn't been a time the season pass card was weak where it wasn't buffed within a couple weeks since Miles Morales (Black Swan maybe, but I don't think she was really weak, just okay).

I think Gwenpool would be better if she just gave +6 to random card in your hand. I don't think it would be more broken than things that are already in the game. And would be pretty exciting with things like Galactus.

I imagine SD has a strong financial incentive to make season pass cards bangers right out of the gate so that you and other content creators sincerely talk it up and encourage people to get it because it will be fun and/or competitive. This and original Gil don't fit this, which is a big miss on SD's marketing since they lose their customers' first impressions.

im glad second dinner is releasing more fun and unique cards. In my opinion, marvel snap is a mobile game and it shouldn't stick to competitive play only, it should try it best to be a casual game first and a competitive scene would come naturally.

I think now that I'm missing enough cards (5), and they keep making it harder to keep up w/ 5 cards a month and no series 4, I'll just save caches until I need two cards. Out of my last 6 new card opens, 5 times I've had to open all 4, so I'm tapped. Not dumping a bunch of money in here, I've got more than enough cards to get infinite and make all sorts of decks. The pass is a nice value, don't really need more imo

Been trying to put some thought into this. If you are hitting her turn 4 you aren't getting any real value out of her. Turn 3 is what you are aiming for. Something like a psylocke, zabu deck shooting for a 4 on 3 but you miss the card you want. This is the backup.
