Same here. Cait has a sweet vulnerability to her that makes for a great companion.

Cait’s actually the first companion I romanced in Fallout 4, I can’t quite remember why, but if I had to guess it’s because I was goin through some shit with a horribly alcoholic mother and a father that pretended he didn’t see that shit; so I kinda identified with her Yeah she’s abrasive, kinda rude and not the purest example of a good person; but she’s gone through a lifetime’s worth of abuse and is trying to cope with it as best she knows how, I can empathize with that I guess I knew what that was like to a degree; not to the level that she explains she went through, but enough I kinda knew why she did what she did; and after I romanced her I made it my personal mission to try and get her on the right path, and put the shit she did in her past behind her However, the issue is Bethesda didn’t think that far ahead, so all of that post romance is basically my headcanon; because yeah, she can be a bitch sometimes But we all need somebody to love, Freddie Mercury said it best

I usually romance Piper, but I still try to help Cait whenever I can. Her backstory is deeply tragic, and she definitely needs a family. I am starting another play though where I plan on romancing Cait on though. (It’s not the first time I’m doing it). I plan on bringing her to Nukaworld, help the raiders (Operators and the Pack) restart the generator, do her quest, romance her, turn on the gangs, and have the place all to myself and Cait. I have no idea in what order of events this is going to happen.

I like Cait and I respect someone wanting to get off of drugs...but I'm going to do a lot of Psycho, Buffout, Med-X, Mentats, and every other drug all the time (Hunter S. Thompson build). Cait was a lot of fun when she was out of her mind, we used to run naked drunk/high af, beating raiders to death with swatters, what a time. Then she started complaining about all the drugs I do, so I stopped traveling with her. I built her a bar in Sanctuary with a neon sign that says "Cait's", and she's retired there. I figure they don't really need a bouncer, between her and Dogmeat.
