The opportunity arrives for me to test drive the new Porsche 911 GT3, of course a future car to join my garage! I've been keenly awaiting the chance I'd be able to go for my first drive in the car that I've ordered bound and this is it! The car did not disappoint by any means, just listen to the noise of the flat 6 as it screams up to 9,000rpm. If I didn't have one on order, I'd have been doing everything I could to get one now! Bring on the future Shmeemobile GT3!

i had a GT3 a few years ago, best car I've ever owned.

Now I'm a Mercedes guy; I love the AMG GT to death, and R8 etc. But The GT3 I think just looks the most put-together. For me, it's the easiest one to look and and is the least offensive visually. I don't think anyone can think this car looks ugly, whereas the others are a little more outgoing. The GT3 looks a bit more restrained, but I also think it's the most attractive car of the segment. Porsches are just very attractive yet simple cars, and this GT3 takes that and makes it look more aggressive but not crazy. Porsches have kept the same look for many decades and generations but it just never gets old. For me, this car just looks aesthetically perfect. Even the spoiler doesn't look at all out of place since it's blended in and attached to the rear end. It makes the spoiler look completely natural to the look of the car, with many spoilers looked slapped on after.

I enjoyed learning the technical specifics of the GT3. I could tell there is even excitement to hear the exhaust. Its fast, we know....,its takes on the curves, we know...., but the speed at which it is capable is over the top and not many other hi-performance cars have this speed control and agility. All other specifications heighten our senses but the power and capabilties on the road remains for of us to experience of what this porsche is about.

Great option choices. PDK is by far the best transmission in any car. I have ceramics on my GT3 RS and like them, but I don’t track the car that much. With you living in Germany and going to the Nurburgring, first of all, I am envious. Secondly, good choice. Keep up the great work.

Didn't really like porsches at first. But gt3 RS made me fall in love with them

In Germany, the GT3 is a road car. If you want a track car, buy a GT3 Cup. If you make a road car too track oriented it is not comfortable enough for that dash from Frankfurt to Palermo in one blast, and it is still compromised for track work. The GT3 is a car I'd use as an everyday car, they have put the correct seats in, but I've lived in Germany.

The first thing I did after watching this video was to go on the Porsche website and try and guess the colour of Tim's inbound GT3. I'm going with Racing Yellow in a nod towards RUF's Yellow Bird.

Great video Tim. In my opinion you shouldn't get the lift system (although by now its too late to change that) since you mentioned that you want to focus on the specific task that the GT3 serves, which is take it to the track and have a blast with it. The lift system will add unnecessary weight. Also, I would get the PCCB and right away replace them with steel rotors, in that way when the time comes to sell you put the carbons back on and your resale value will be much better. Either way, no matter what's the configuration, the car is a blast to drive.

Nice car Tim, can't help feeling that exhaust drone will get old really fast though. I had the same problem with my first car, a Vauxhall Nova 1.2. In my eager and feverish youth I fitted a Cherry Bomb exhaust and learnt the hard way how unsociable and grating an exhaust note can become on a daily driver.

12:41 you mention it is a bit droney in normal drive, but looks like you have sport exhaust turned on still, probably quieter with it off. (not that i would ever turn it off either)

Don’t know specs yet, but should be cool. I don’t have your cash, but both cars should be amazing. I look forward to seeing your future videos.

As brilliant as the PDK and it is one of the best double clutch gearboxes made, you've goto have a manual! So much more involving and better resale wise. If anyone is buying the PDK version because it's faster to 60 and around a track then you've brought the wrong car, the GT3 is a drivers car, a car you wake up at 6am on a Sunday morning take it out to some country roads and open up the taps! Enjoy the passion of driving working to get the power by using the three peddles, rev match on up changes to assist it to slot into gear heal and toe on the downshift none of this auto rev matching system! Enjoy the fact your in control of the car and it's you not the electronics that is controlling what the car does and love driving exploring. That's just my opinion though !
