That's why Paul is a false teacher according to the teachings of the Torah. The basics of the Torah is simple there is only One Creator and you are responsible for your wrong doings. Directly through compensation to the aggrieved party and indirectly through temple sacrifices for unintentional sins according to Orthodox Judaism. On a philosophical level, Isaiah 1 clearly states that temple sacrifices do not remove sin but rather you stop doing wrong, and do right. I agree with that. Take an example of the speeding fine. The fine might deter the wicked from speeding but to a rich man who can afford the fine, it doesn't remove his speeding habit or sin. Likewise, temple sacrifices are rituals to deter "speeding", they are not an end to themselves and surely it works for some. Hence, hefty laws are instituted not to remove crime but rather to deter crime. Thus, it depends on you entirely to interpret temple sacrifices. Most people need a hefty fine to keep them in check while others who understood the Torah philosophy well, will not speed even if the hefty fines are removed. Hence, a good philosophy should center itself around repentence and good behaviour rather than atonement which is basically to compensate against bad behaviour. Nipping the problem at its bud, rather than boasting and exalting the effectiveness of the fines themselves.
