Amazing! 💜💜 it’s sad that there is no place like this in the US. A predominately Black, upscale neighborhood with beautiful estates. So much redlining and racism in real estate in the US. I hope to visit SA sometime soon.

In the U.S. liberals keep putting welfare programs in upscale Black neighborhoods that drag it down. These affordable, subsidized or shelters attract the worst among us.

@@driversseat1707 I have been interested in knowing how the US government’s role in housing has effected our black neighborhoods for a long time now. I have witnessed red lining and gentrification firsthand and I know there is even more to it that leftist politicians are not saying. What they are saying is just a way to throw us bones to control the narrative so we never land on the truth. Would you happen to have any resources I could use for research about this? I’d really love to learn more. Thanks for your insight!

Thank you my brother for showcasing black South Africans "excellence" @ least now I have found someone who doesn't insult our people like certain african brothers stating that we the black people of this country don't live in these areas or even own big businesses which is a lie, they say only whites live in these upscale places, my guess you are not south African but you are very fair in your reporting about S. A.

They not our brothers they are devils that were enslaved for 400 years and have slave mentality. We dont claim them. Real brothers celebrate like people from Botswana. Besides we are genetically not related to west central east or north africans we are our own race in southern africa. Their people havent achieved wealth so they hate on the outside of the club.

There are areas like these in many African countries (If you travel on the continent you will see what I mean). They might not be as tight in terms of infrastructure but there are many. And South Africa is Africa, our successes belong to all of us. The same way when someone from other African countries succeeds, I see a lot of South Africans taking credit as Africans too. Don't be that person. Africa is one, don't let colonialism blind you into thinking you are not part of the rest of the continent.

LOL @ "compared to other Africans...". Compared to other Africans SA has a far HIGHER standard of living. And the word "poor" means something different and is recorded differently in different countries. (e.g not measuring semi- & informal employment AT ALL , e.g SA ....VS. countries where 90% of people are in informal employment to begin with, so they have to be recorded, e.g. Nigeria) The best way to measure "LIKE with LIKE" is the Multidimensional Poverty Index(MPI) which cross-references ACTUAL standard of living (assets, housing, nutrition, income, education, health etc) instead of just basing it on arbitrary formal pay records. The MPI shows that 82% of Ethiopia is in multidimensional poverty. 54% of Nigeria is. On the other hand... 6% of South Africa is multidimensionally poor.

To live in places like this is not terribly expensive in SA. You can be a lawyer, doctor, dentist or a member of any of the traditional professions and easily afford this lifestyle. If you're income is in dollars/pounds/euros then it is even more accessible for a fraction of what would be required to live similarly in one of the developed economies of the world. This is why you find people from those countries looking for jobs in SA but the opposite can't be said. @@isoboy1000 I think you must wait for the outcome of the Population Census. Stats SA will release them soon. You will know what changes happened in the past 10 years. What I know is that the demand for houses is high. I know that in City of Tshwane for example, the number of applications for approval of township establishment and house plans has gone high. Also the number of new developments has increased. The City has been expanding in all directions in the past 15 years. The same with City of Johannesburg. Even if we do not have the exact numbers, the increase in activities in the real estate tells you that many people can afford as compared to the past 15 years ago. you can even see the kind of houses built in Rural areas.
