Yeah sometimes people are broke for a reason. My wife and I have some close friends who are having financial difficulty so we bought a home and rented it to them at about half the normal rent. The plan was they would save some money for a down payment and purchase the home from us. They admitted they would be homeless if we hadn't helped them. The first thing they did was get cable TV because after all doesn't everyone have cable TV ? Then they bought a couple cars. It wasn't long before they told us they couldn't even afford the half rent. They sold everything they had and moved to Costa Rica. I predict sooner or later they'll be back looking for help again.
