I stopped wearing jeans about 10 years ago because of friction burns in the inner thighs. Instead, I started to use lycra pants and shin gards. Best upgrade ever!

I personally like to wear some blue ridge canvas pants bc they’re breathable cheap as all hell and durable all at the same time, so I’ve got no problem wrecking them then grabbing another pair for chump change

I usually wear baggy khaki type material pants. Most jeans are too thick and I like the thinner feeling baggy pants

One time I was wearing jeans and I had a horrible fall onto my butt and my mom was like so worried but I didn’t have any fall damage because jeans are like diamond armor

They protect your legs a LITTLE bit..I would say they probably benefit long boarders more, The reason for that is because the main protection comes from road rash in the speeds you will probably achieve on a longboard are more likely to protect you from sliding. But I’m sorry, I’ve never hit my legs with my skateboard or fell on a park obstacle and felt protected by my jeans, that’s what pads are for, any direct impact by something will definitely hurt regardless of what you are wearing. Unless you overdo it and wear like Kevlar.

Furthermore, since street skateboarding is very dangerous and risky they started to look for clothings that are durable and comfy. Therefore, that is why skaters love denim jeans now.

I found super light weight soccer shin guards that are built into a sleeve that I wear all the time to protect my shins. The guards aren’t solid they are like padded so it doesn’t feel like u have anything on basically. Super helpful and you can’t see it under pants/joggers

I used to wear jeans when I was younger now. I wear shorts because more flexibility more air flow and also I wear the one eighty seven killer patch, Have the sleeves on them, so makes it a lot easier and more comfortable. Hurts when you're getting hit by the word. But that's why you get mid to high top shoes and long Take socks Or invest in shingard if you like

Ok so basically in every of those 2 aspects loose joggers (dickies mapleton for example) are a lot better in both, they have a thick soft material that awesome at absorbing the board and falls, and are super stretchy, one problem, they can get holes easier, but I haven’t got one in a year of skating

After having jobs with dress pants required, I started wearing dress pants all the time even to skate in. Keans feel like sandpaper on my legs now in comparison. Get a decent pair of fitted ones. I can't go back! If you are gona wear jeans, sometimes spending a little extra on the right fit and stretchy material makes all the difference in the world. When we were younger we would wear women's jeans (not skinny jeans or super skin tight ones) until the skate industry caught up and made them better.
