Being late to a class or exam is not about you. The main reason for such rules is that coming late disrupts the thought process of the other attentive students and/or lecturers in the hall.

I'm a student of UPSA and what they did is right, cause they told us that exams will start at 8:30am but they started the exams at 9:00am. Those who came after 9:00 were not allowed to write.

If it says 30 mins grace period then they should have allowed them access to write the exams however Sheldon is right on the general time consciousness topic when it comes to Ghana. For example if your work requires you to operate a certain machine or work on something at a particular time, you are needed at that station or desk before or exactly at that time to execute your task. Even if you are an expert, you are required to be on time and not waste other peoples times in case you have to do your job before they can also do theirs. There are always exceptions in every setting and unforeseen incidents can happen but being late should not be encourage especially when it comes to us Ghanaians. Generalization is what is making Ghana law not effective or make others see it as ineffective, every institution or scenario has it's distinctive regulations. I hope both scanty and Paradise have heard something called dress code and it is different for every different event? The thing is most at times both teachers or authorities and students don't fully know the dos' and don'ts'. When that happens both try to implement what they feel like is right or wrong which always ends up being a personal bias or preference.

Punctuality is one of the best form of Discipline.

The reason why you are not allowed in after 30 minutes is because anyone who started the exams can leave the exam room after 30 minutes and tell someone waiting outside the questions that dropped

So Scanty, when you're hosting a show from 12pm to 2pm and your guest you've booked for an interview comes in at 1:45pm, will you be okay to host him for the remaining 15mins cos it's still within the time? We just have to curb indiscipline. Maybe the punishment is what should've been reviewed. But the lateness de3, it should definitely be dealt with.

The reason this debate didn’t get anywhere is because this entire argument is full of graduates/ students and no Lecturers. In a debate like this I think the best option was to invite a lecturer to be a part of the discussion.

This is about discipline. Cause you can’t be arriving late to a job interview. You’re always expected to be 15-20 minutes early no matter where you’re going. Cause here in the USA if you’re even 5 minutes late to your doctors appointment, they’ll not assist you cause they’re moving on to the next person. We need to learn to disciplined ourselves PERIOD

This is what actually happened : The exam was suppose to start at 1:30pm which the student have to be seated by that time, but unfortunately the examination started late almost 2:00pm, the gates were closed at 2:00pn, so its their fault not that of administration.

Sadly, when we entered the school, we signed to agree with all terms and policies of the school. The documented legal agreement grants the school a superior hand over students since they can employ any policy they want and adjust any already documented policy they have. In Amsterdam, when you’re late for a particular exams, they just deduct that time from the maximum examination time, cos when the time is up, all pens down.

Am in the uk if ur late for an exams and is a 2 hour exams and minutes ur late they would add it at the end when everyone else is finished so u don’t lose any time
