Thanks for the clarification! That makes her a bit worse, although Agatha has decent power and could play on turn 3 or 4.

@@docty_snap To be honest agatha is 1 of the better draw for valentina, at least she has high power, so many of the other 6 cost cards are just useless

When I think of Valentina I think of how many times I've filled the Raft only to end up with useless card in my hand. Before the Thanos nerf I might have gone for next week's Spotlight for Blob, but now I'm just going to skip. Knull is the best card of the three and I already have him.

I think you are good. I am going for Valentina, but she is a luxury buy. I feel like she only fits Loki and is honestly replaceable. On the other hand, Blob no longer has a home, and if you got Knull, this is a skippable week.

The problem with Valentina is that she directly competes with Cable and Mirage in the decks you are most likely to play her in (Dino and/or Loki decks), and outside of fringe highroll scenarios (T1 Quinjet, T2 Valentina, T3 viable 6-cost) she's just way less consistent than either of them in terms of output and utility. The amount of match-deciding intel that Cable and Mirage offer is just inexistent with Valentina.

I don't think that they will remove Agatha. I played lots of cards that generate random cards for me and I've got an Agatha a lot of the time

Ever since she was leaked, I firmly believed that she would be a mid card which I am not looking forward to. So, I was very surprised to see the reactions of other content creators and regular players that she is the card they are most excited to get (that was during the first week after she was leaked). Alongside 2 other cards that I think almost everyone has, it would be a skip if you are not much into the variants. With that being said, Loki would love him and I wish I could try playing him sometimes. It's just that, I love playing Mill and Clog every time. lol

I have a similar forecast for Valentina. My skepticism comes largely from playing a lot of Nick Fury for fun. That really teaches you that there are a lot of useless or mediocre six drops. The comparison to Cable is apt, and of course you could play Mirage or Sentinel in that slot too, increasing the pressure on Valentina.

Cable is such a good card bc he can disrupt the opponent. But Valentina is more focused on your power output. A 4/8 is okay, but we have so many 4/10's it's gonna be hard for her to bring value

Honestly, if I get her, I'll replace Maria Hill in my shield deck. Yeah, she was a card that got a little nerfed before release. But I'm not sure if she's good or just ok.

Most of the lower power six drops have the stronger abilities but will now have next to no power and the higher power 6 drops are equivalent to high power 4 drops with the -3 power. Also running luke cage to negate this plus MMM everywhere makes Valentina clunky to play on curve.

Zola is not so bad. Zola on Valentina gives you two more shots at a discounted Zola. Throw in Armor into the deck, you'll love Destroyer, too.

The downside for Valentina+Zola is that you spent 6 energy across 2 turns to have two 2/3s and a 4/-3 on board. That's +3 power with 2 random cards to your hand; a weaker Nick Fury. Armor/Zero/Cosmo can definitely help with Destroyer, but that's more required synergy to plan around 1 specific 6-cost card that's a 1/27 chance (I said 26 in vid, but it turns out Agatha is an option)

Good points @docty_snap. Synergy-wise, Valentina build-around should have Luke Cage. ;) That's a T6 play to help the big discounted 6s to dodge Shang.

@@ydgmdlucards like doom and zola keep their abilities and are useful even with the minus power. U can also play shadow king or Luke cage to negate the -power. Cards like hulk or infinaut don’t care abt -3 power

I think Valentina is extremely strong in Loki, much better than Cable. Aside from that she won't really see play in many other decklists.

No luke cage in any of the decks is a shame. You could mitigate the power loss.

Luke Cage has nice synergy with Valentina - but it's clunky trying to fit him into a deck that she works in. You shouldn't build a deck around Valentina who may give you a useless card. Quinjet already exists in the decks she fits into and giving a 6-cost card for 3 energy is already a big payoff if you actually get something good.

Why is no content creator pairing Valentina with Shadow King for a potential 4+2 turn 6 play?

I think if you already have Shadow King in a Loki deck or other deck that she works in - go for it. But I don't think it's worth including Shadow King just for Valentina. Quinjet adds more value and is already in many decks that Val fits.
