Condesa Mexico City is a unique and wonderful place. With its hundreds of museums, historical landmarks, beautiful European-like architecture, parks, amazing people, great food, etc.
There is no city like Mexico City.
However, when people ask us why we love living in Mexico City, the answer isn't really that it has world-class museums or that it was home to so many important moments in history, it's the life that we can live here.
In the Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City, we visit three different coffee shops that so wonderfully represent what we love about life in Mexico City.
The three cafés we visit are:

Coffee fan here!! I can't wait to comeback to CDMX and enjoy a great coffee with family and friends!! La Condesa is a great place to relax and enjoy a coffee, cappuccino hmmmm!! :)

Condesa is my favorite part of the city and I love to travel there. Its been almost 4 years. For a few years, I was not drinking coffee at all but now I back to having expressos and macchiatos. I am a real coffee snob and I like very strong coffee. Mexico wasn't known for coffee at all for years and what they made was worse than American coffee. From what I saw in this video, the color of the coffee looks deep and rich which I would be really happy with. Is the expresso strong but smooth. I find Cafe Nero makes a bitter coffee and I am not crazy about it. Starbucks is worse. To tell you the truth, I find Dunkin Donuts to make the best expresso that I can find. I am grateful for your video and cant wait to go back to Mexico. It is truly an amazing city.

The quality of this video was quite good. ¡Felicidades! Jorge and I will be in Mexico City for several days next week. While he visits with his ballet folklórico friends, I’m going to visit the places you included in this video. Even though Jorge and I are moving to Querétaro in December, we will visit Mexico City fairly often … maybe even stay a month in CDMX with Buddy, our ever-loving Golden Retriever mix. :-) ¡Saludos! I would be great if you visit other neighborhoods of the city, such as Napoles, San Angel, Del Valle, Coyoacan, Chimalistac or San Jose Insurgentes.

We've been to all of those (we were just in San Angel yesterday). We're just not super familiar with them to the point where we're confident enough to make videos truly covering them. However, I'm sure we'll learn more about them in our visits!

I love all your videos. I think you’re doing a great job! A couple of questions, will you be uploading your Q&A from Wednesday? Also, which of the two areas would you recommend staying, La Condessa or Roma, we only have 4 nights. We love vegan restaurants, coffee shops, parks, walking and exploring. we won’t we publishing the live but we will be doing another one soon! i’d recommend condesa, but they’re so close to each other you can completely walk each one in a day! both neighborhoods have plenty of all those things but our favorite park is in condesa (:

Take those critics with a grain of salt. People don't watch for the technical skills it's about the content you are providing and it is fabulous. I will be moving to CDMX the first week of Aug. As a dog owner and coffee lover I will love Condesa. I am a bit concerned as to how easy or difficult it will be to communicate aside from using google translate? I am planning on taking Spanish classes but until I am proficient I worry. I have heard some say that Condesa/Roma/Polanco has more English speakers, do you find this to be true? I was not able to join in on the live Q&A you did last Wed as I am 6 hrs ahead of you. Will you be doing a replay for viewers to watch?

Thank you very much! Your comment means a lot:) In terms of communication, you won't be the only person who doesn't speak Spanish in Condesa. Living here without speaking Spanish is limiting but definitely doable. Especially in that area, a lot of locals speak good enough English to help you out! We won't be replaying that Q&A in particular but we are planning a new one in a few weeks!

I’m a little disappointed. I just got some coffee (San Pedro Yosotatu Oaxaca) from Quentin Cafe and it was TWICE as expensive as the coffee from the Blend Station in Condesa (where I’ve been buying my beans for months). The problem is that I’ve come from Canada and have only been living Mexico City for 4 months. I still don’t really think in terms of pesos and it was only after I paid and was on my way home that I realized how absurd the price was.

The bags and quinten are also larger than the ones at blend station. We've bought coffee at both places multiple times and decided that Quinten was the better place for us!

@@sergtana I took the bag size into account. Almost all the Mexican coffees (Oaxaca included) at the blend station are 120 pesos for 250g. The bag I got from Quentin was 340 pesos for 340g. If you work out the price per gram it is a little more than TWICE the price. In fact it’s more than I pay for specialty coffee in Canada.

Ps. They don’t even put the weight (or the price) on the bag so you have to go home and weigh it to even know what you are getting. Maybe they ripped me off because I’m Caucasian.

No that's certainly the price. You didn't get ripped off. Their coffee is some of the best we've had anywhere.

@@sergtana Good to know. I’m also a bit a coffee “snob” and have a good quality 1zpresso JX hand grinder and Bonavita variable temp kettle for making my morning V60. I’m going to try the coffee tomorrow morning but, short of a religious experience, I’ll almost certainly stick with the excellent coffee from Blend Station!

The neighborhood Condesa's been a wealthy area with lots of immigrants for like a hundred years. Not really gentrification.

The videos look fine save the absence of camera stabilization = no expensive equipment upgrades necessary. Go easy with the music. Increase insightful commentary. "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."
