It came out in February 2019 and I bought it brand new off eBay in December 2020 with a 3yrs warranty for $540 and it's still great today. I was looking between the A71 and the S10 plus, but the camera on the S10 plus was far superior, faster processing. I needed it for volgging,it has a headphone jack so I can plug in external mics easily. Now there are more mics with USB-C, but I will keep this as a dedicated camera for my street DJ outreach events and get a new S23 Ultra for everything else.

Hey dude. Just wanted to clarify something. Samsung provides 4 years OS update and 5 years security update inclusive. Means you get 4 years of Android updates + 1 additional year of security update. Not 5 additional years of security updates. Since the way you said it sounded like they give you 5 years of security update after which they don't.

I have s10e rn and I can say it still holds up very nicely. I'm still loving it especially its compact size, display, performance and camera. In terms of battery obviously it will not last you whole day but not an issue for me I'm always in the house and in the office I can just charge it, and I can always bring battery pack. The point here is you get the value of your money. And honestly, a lot of my coworkers says that my phone is cute in size and one of them is considering buying a second hand of this model as backup phone.

The counter argument to this is you could also go for a second hand midranger and save even more money. Especially if it was a special once in a blue moon model. I bought the s10+ renewed for $500 (half of its launch price) around 8 months after the s20 series launched. I plan to continue this trend every 3-4 years. Although given the noticeable hardware/battery life increases from the s22 - s23 line I may wait until renewed s23+/Ultras come down to around $500 next year. This means I spend on average $125-$100 every year and still get top of the line phones, even if they are "only" last year's model.

I've had the Galaxy a53 5g since August, I love it! I paid $50 for the phone on Metro when I ported in. I don't game so I never have stuttering problems, I don't need the Dex mode and if this phone had that feature I wouldn't use it. I watch KZfaq, text, email and make/take phone calls. I have never past 30 percent on the battery even after on and off heavy use for a 24 hour period without having to plug it in. As for wireless charging, I had phones with that feature and never used it bc wired charging is WAY faster not to mention more efficient. So there is a market for midrange phones, that's why they sell so well. What I don't need is a $1500 Galaxy S23 Ultra with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2+ (I believe is what's in that phone) 12Gb of RAM and 1TB of storage that people will just want to steal from me on the subway at night in NYC! The only "flagship" phone I would go for in maybe the Pixel 7 or 7a bc I'd like a phone a bit more compact than what I currently have which has a 6.5in screen.

I disagree 100%. I'll never get old second hand tech over new stuff. Def no SE version. Any midrange does 98% of the things an overpriced flagship does. Unless you NEED the best camera available there is no real reason to pay $1k for a phone or get an old phone when you can get yourself a brand new one for half the price. I own the S23 Ultra and basically every Top of the line S and note series before and I can confirm I'll be more than fine with a midrange if it wasnt for the camera. And even for that you got great midrange phones in the pixel line.

It depends on the mid range. I'd pick a Xiaomi T series over s21 and s22 series due to heat. S20 series has it's green line issue and no one seems to bring it up. Software updates are useless if the soc itself is a mobile heater, I have a friend that complains about s22u regarding video recording as it overheats.

Picked up a s10 plus for $120USD, coming from a note 20 ultra with a broken screen and camera. Kinda felt like an upgrade in ways! Definitely don't knock old flag ships and hey now I've got a headphone jack again 👌

older flagships have better cameras, better screen, better build quality, better processor, and little flagship only features which really add up. even If I get an year less of software update(which is not the case most of the time) that is still not enough to give up all the features. Its like comparing a 2023 Honda accord to a 2020 S class.

If you get a renewed phone unlocked version, will Verizon except the IMEI #? That’s my concern about renewed. I’d get the 21 but rather it be new. Has anyone had issues with this? I have an S20 FE 5G. I got it a couple years back & it was an AT&T version & it didn’t have WiFi calling & some features weren’t there. I had to get all of their software disabled, the fingerprint sensor is finally working at about a 80% clip. I’m not sure how I got it to be MOSTLY reliable. Is the 21 ultra better? Any help would be appreciated. I am getting just about 2 years on my phones. So, between 4 &5 is where I’m sitting at.

If you want to save money and still want good performance, there's nothing better than an older flagship. Buying used/refurbished may look like a risk, but all you have to do is find a reputable seller with a good warranty policy. Not hard to find.

The Exynos is not that bad....I have an S 21 Ultra that runs on one lol. BUT it does make sense to get a flagship over a midranger if the price is the same. Recently I got a refurbished iPhone 11 (like to diversify my options besides I keep a secondary phone incase i need another phone for whatever reason) and it's petty good....I can vouch for the S10+...that;s a great phone. @@bbzay6488 way better? Idk, let's compare them S20 Fe has: Bigger screen Better screen Smaller bezels Is lighter Better rear cameras Better front camera Better video stabilization Better video zoom Better night mode photos (both cameras) Better night mode video (Rear cameras) Can record portrait mode video with the frontal camera Better SoC (processor) Better water resistance Up to 512gb, way easier to find a 256gb model Faster RAM Faster storage (even my Note 10+ has faster storage than the a54 smh) Better flash Better slow motion Wireless charging Reverse wireless charging Plastic back (positive or negative, depends on you, negative imo) Samsung DeX, a huge plus for some, including me 3x Telephoto camera (way more useful than macro) Depends on the person, but Better design imo A54 has: Bigger battery Newer Bluetooth version Will be updated longer Glass back (again, depends on you I do prefer it above plastic tho, so a it's a plus imo) Higher brightness Macro camera Better night mode front camera video ...that's it? Can't think of anything else, also, this guy has a video comparing them both, as well as many other videos on KZfaq comparing them, you should check them out :)

@@Weroleytor like 60% of the things you said about the s20Fe are litteraly better on the a54 the only important thing pn the s20 fe is the wireless ans reverse charging, the ip58 the camera is better on a54, screen size depend of your hand size, performance are sightly lower on the a54 but the a54 will have 4 android update and the s20 fe is on his last, the battery is a lot better on the a54

@@bbzay6488 Look at the specs and any comparison video about them, the s20 FE is just better overall What 60% specifically? The a54 might have better camera hardware but the software and SoC make the S20 FE take better pictures and video, Pixel phones don't have the best camera hardware but still take the best pictures, same thing here, again, look at videos comparing them Yes, the a54 has a better battery and will get updates for longer, that's literally the only big thing it has above the s20 FE, meanwhile the s20 FE gets all the things I mentioned, I'd take all of those over more updates and battery life any day

I totally agree with you mate. I think it's just smartphone manufacturers' shady business to brainwash customers minds and convince them the newer the better. I currently hold a 3 year-old upper mid range smartphone and it still seems to be better than most of the modern mid rangers. Aside from the design and the latest Android version, mid rangers tend to be inferior to older flagships in many ways such as camera quality, performance, variety of features. It's just the marketing that make people buy a newer phone every time.

Im 1 minute in and i agree. A 1 year old processor is better than like 95% of new mid range phones at the same price. The only real killer which i recently bought and couldnt be happier is the op11. It kills my pixel 7 and s23 plus and 27 minutes to full charge for $599. Cannot beat that. Also has that snapdragon 8gen 2 and 5k mah battery and i got the 256gb version so plenty of space. Its the only one i would recommend in that price point besides Pixel 6a or like this video mentions s22 plus or something like that.
