I've been chasing this on mine for months... the top bolt on the top hat feels tight... just replaced the outer tie rods, sway bar links not rubbing, can't find the clunking and it's annoying!

I installed lowering springs on my Mazda 3. I also replaced all 4 end links later on due to clunking. I still have a clunking, but from only one wheel in the left rear. It’s almost as if that left rear is bouncing, and the clunking happens during rotation of the wheel. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn’t, and it’s mostly only during low speeds or during the morning at first start. Do you perhaps have any idea on what it can be?

My guess is a damaged part in the wheel bearing assembly. Check for wheel bearing damage by lifting the car and wiggling the wheel in both the up-down and side-to-side direction. Also check the upper end of the shock tower and check for loose control arms. On a related note, since installing a suspension kit my car has developed an embarrassing squeak in the right rear wheel when going over things like curbs - likely because of a damaged bushing. Figuring out which bushing is damaged is not trivial, and it'll likely require removal and inspection of all control arms, something I'm having trouble finding the time and place for.

@@flor35pect39 the clunking or the squeaking? Might be caused by the same base issue: those bushings are kind of garbage.

Lol best line in this video "Here's the old ACfailco ones." Moogs is a good replacement. I should get some moogs for mine. Hopefully they sell them at my job cause I got lifetime warranty on the front but it's the house brand. Well ima wait till mine fail. I have them for about 3 yesrs and their still not leaking or ripped.

jus ordered a lot of my suspension for a suspension rebuild once i put the coils on, can you do a video of better aftermarket suspension components that work better than stock
@ColtonRichter

I'd say the only aftermarket piece worth it is aftermarket camber arms. OEM Endlinks always do the best work it seems.

Great video! You mentioned that there is a lot of frame rubbing (min 4:20) with the old endlinks. How is the frame rubbing with these? Also, can you put a link with the model # or where to buy the front and rear?

So I just installed my bc racing coilovers along with fresh end links, non adjustable by the way. I dropped my ride 2 inches and I have a clank, I never tightened the top hat middle bolt, would that cause a bad clunk noise going over bumps?

If I get a clunk from the rear when I go over drive ways into a parking lot, is that this problem or is that something to do with the springs
@ColtonRichter
@ColtonRichter 2 жыл бұрын
Probably this issue if it's coming from the rear, or your rear trailing arm bushings are shot which is big common

The clunk isn't because your endlinks are broken it's because you are torqueing them without loaded suspension
@dementedchikenjc
@dementedchikenjc 2 жыл бұрын
That won't make any difference. They are on ball joints so the rotate to where they want regardless of weight. The bushes though need weight on the car 100 percent
@ColtonRichter

I partially agree with Joe, but you do have a point. Either way, end links are underlooked & normally on their way out
