Wa2990d0db06ell guess what ...warriors lost one of the biggest games in the NBA by 3 points. Now I bet if KD played game 6 I bet KD would've gave GS. The points they needed to win. They pay them Millions to play hurt even if he was 60% the Warrioirs win this series. So I disagree with Shannon. KD shouldve manned up and player through the pain it cost GS the title.

not from 'his doc tho... im sure the 2nd opinion was based on merit, but unless the doc has got as much vested in KD as himself, he's always gonna be as objective as possible. he needed someone biased and subjective that's gonna say, sure, objectively, you're pretty darn safe -- but there's still that one percent chance, man, don't risk it. you need your own doc that also risks multiple years of being 'your doc.' that's why Kawhi's doc also played it safe... cuz he thinking what's the safest way guarantee the next 10 years of pay cheques from this guy. you need your own doc that is as long term biased and subjective to taking zero risk.

Kawhi was cleared by 7 different doctors he went to. Kawhi stole money because he cared about his next contract more than playing his final year out when literally everybody cleared him accept a shyster doctor that Kawhi paid off. The most any media said was "if he's healthy, he should play" or "the only chance for Warriors to win is for KD to play". This narrative of KD being a weak minded child that was pressured to play by the media is nonsense. The dude is smart and strong willed. He chose to play, because the greats are the ones that put the most pressure on themselves. He wanted to be out there and said so himself. So after more than a month out of commission, he took the best info he had and made the decision. It just didn't work out.

How about you take two seconds to be informed so that you don't continually make a fool of yourself. No one "lied"; all basketball fans/players are obviously devastated by this news but as FANS, can we stop speculating as if we somehow have more information/knowledge than entire medical teams? Go back and look at when Kobe tore his achilles. If Durant's injury was really an achilles the first time he wouldn't have been able to run down the court.

KD's a big boy, he has the ability to seek out multiple opinions (and probably did). Also, it's his body, he should be very in tune to what is wrong with it. He's been a pro athlete for a very long time, he's not ignorant to what is wrong with his body like the average joe would be. Enough blaming everybody else, he had the power to do what Kawhi did in checking it out independently and saying "no, I can't go or risk the future."

@@killndbay I respectfully see what you're saying and agree it was KD's choice. The GS training staff didn't let Klay play Game 3 and didn't clear KD to play Game 4. As soon as GS is down 3-1, they all of a sudden deem KD ready to play. The Warriors organization from players to Steve Kerr to the owners have been playing mind games with KD's status, and Shannon called them out before Game 5. That whole organization is to blame, but we cannot put the blame on KD.

A team doctor would be committing career suicide as a professional, not to mention is torpedoing the team’s (their employer) best interest by knowingly send an unhealthy player back too early. So he knew there was a palpable risk in going out there. Unless the Warriors staff lied or are COMPLETELY incompetent, I think it was a calculated risk that went horribly wrong.

I have to agree with Shannon here. I mean Durant didn't even do one full practice. That is the biggest sign. The whole Warriors organization and Durant were praying to god that he doesn't get injured knowing well that he has a slight Achilles tear. It was a risk that Durant was willing to take. The Warriors were just lying to themselves. They just couldn't believe that their star player was that hurt. Esp. when they are about to 3 peat. So sad. Reality hit EVERYONE game 5. Prayers for KD!

The Warriors must not be a First Class Organization like they claim to be, to allow KD to play while injured. This was a selfish move on the part of the Warriors Organization. They need to be ashamed of themselves smh

Jory P You know enough of the story/evidence... when has it ever been acceptable to medically clear a player for game play when they haven't had even one full nba practice session in over a month? Also, look at where the ice was on kd 2-3 days ago... on his achillies not just his calf! That alone is enough to prove they were desperate & chose to roll the dice with his future rather than play it safe smh
