Alastor absolutely trolled and roasted Vox with no mercy

"Stayed Gone" is such a fantastic song. It perfectly establishes Vox and Alastor's dynamic. The fact that Vox was so hot-headed and felt the need to assert dominance in the first place, while Alastor stays collected and nonchalant already suggests who's superior. But the way Alastor just casually tunes in, hits Vox back even harder, and completely airs out his dirty laundry just proves it. And then there's the end, with Alastor giving his own warning and showing his demon form. It's awesome, creepy, and lets us know for certain he's got a hidden agenda. And it's going to change everything. A perfect theatrical number. Also, I'm so glad Vivienne didn't go the obvious, overused story route of having Charlie believe Sir Pentious when he got caught and kicking out Angel Dust or whatever for the sake of drama. And you know the next episode would've been wasted with Angel trying to clear his name. I can't stand that misunderstanding trope.

I'm not the only one here who thinks Charlie's bed-hair makes her even MORE adorable, right?

This show get'a better as the season goes on. Episode 2 is what convinced me to give the rest of the season a try. Vox and Alastor have a rivalry for the ages.

I agree Cody, It Starts With Sorry is a very emotional song to me too. It perfectly does state that if you're truly willing to say sorry for your mistakes, (Even some people will be unsteady about it.) there people will be who care for you, be there for you, and who will help you out.

I'm glad you're enjoying the show so far! Here's a demon power ranking scale that might help out in the future (no spoilers, don't worry)! On the very top of the food chain we have our fallen angel Lucifer, no being in hell is more powerful than him. Then we have Charlie and her mother Lilith. Third place goes to the seven deadly sins (they aren't really explored in this show but they are mentioned in helluva boss, another show Vivienne has created that takes place in the same hellaverse). Below that we have the royal families like Ars Goetia (again, explored only in helluva boss). Up next are the overlords like Alastor, Vox, Valentino and Velvette. Their power is measured by how many souls they own and Alastor is considered one of the most powerful ones. Below overlords are sinners. Just like the overlords, sinners are mortal souls who once lived on earth, the difference is that they aren't nearly as powerful (for example, Angel Dust, sir Pentious). And finally at the very bottom are the hellborn, imps and hellhounds, which are demons who never lived on earth and were born in hell (technically Charlie is a hellborn but being Lucifer's daughter gives her a much higher status and power). The exterminators ONLY target sinners/overlords, they don't kill hellborn.

I can say that this episode really spark a conversation between Vox and Alastor. As they are truly a different type of characters that used to work together till something cause them to split. 🤔 but glad the song explains on their lore and witness that Radio is better than Television.

When it comes to Angel Dust and Valentino’s relationship, I’m not gonna spoil anything. However I will say that the music video “Addict” on KZfaq and an upcoming episode will fully explain Angel Dust and Valentino’s toxic relationship very easily.

This show really does keep on getting better and better. And the fact that Alastor doesn't even remember Sir Pentious when ever they fight is very funny. Also I wonder if Alastor has ever noticed the drone that is spying on him? And the fact that radio went out of popularity with tv that doesn't make Vox any better then Alastor. Also it's very good that Alastor is doing his radio broadcast in the underworld because that is apart of his tradition when he was alive.

1:24 “Didn’t we just kill you?” Sinner Demons like Pentious can’t be permanently killed in hell because they just come back to life after (I think somewhere in the pride ring?) the only way to kill them for good is with holy weapons.

Ever since the pilot was first released I've been such a fan of Alastor

I love how they show that for all Vox’s power and control that he’s actually pretty insecure about his position as soon as it’s told to him Al is back. Then Al goes and picks at one of his deeper insecurities ‘that he’s powerless without the other V’s’ because Al knows Vox’s weaknesses which lead him to loosing his signal! How Vox’s technology may be more ‘advanced’ but still runs on RADIO waves is just chef’s kiss! 😩👌 It’s just so good how they show all the bright flashing screens and stuff Vox uses to control Hell’s citizens also are because he’s hella overcompensating to seem more confident and powerful when he’s actually insecure, and of course Al calls him out on it. XD It’s so fucking funny how he warns Val not to do something stupid like trying to go to the hotel. Then as soon as Val tells him Al is back man’s immediately gets so petty and insecure in his position he tries to publicly diss Al on live broadcast only for Al to throw all his insecurities in his face causing him to overload! He’s constantly 30 seconds from a mental breakdown! XD

I only just watched the series a week or two ago, I absolutely enjoy it and love watching your reviews :3 Angel and Husk are my favorite characters of this series.

This show really does get better! Again, all the songs are bangers! Also, if you love Hazbin, you’ll love the sister series made by the same creator Helluva Boss, which takes place in the same universe! (You don’t have to, just a suggestion)

After you finish Hazbin Hotel, check out helluva boss. It's a bit wacky and has a more dark humor approach, but it's still good, a bit flawed, but good nonetheless.

For those who aren’t aware this rivalry has been ongoing since…..forever. Alastor basically roasting Vox because of he MAJOR DISLIKE for television is on point since RADIO is far superior and I can agree with him.
