@@Nadiki Thanks everyone! I'm incredibly happy to give back to the SW community! Considering Disney had no problems with fanedits before, I doubt they'll be offended now. I'm dealing with this legally as clear as I could, by having D+ account and refusing any donations for the project. Even the reshoots were made for no money since I have a lot of friends in film industry, SW and cosplay community. Also this is first and foremost done out of love, not hate, and is my own alternative take on the story- basically like a song cover, only in a video form. This is not intended to replace or "fix" anything, but I'm using VFX in a creative way to make the shots fit my own narrative. And most importantly, my goal is to strengthen the characters and motivations, not to cut them out blatantly.

Even if the movie sucked an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie would have made a lot of money. Probably more than Rogue One, which already grossed over a billion dollars.

After watching werewolf by night and the guardians Christmas special, I feel like most of the Disney plus shows could have been cut down to movie length and called "special presentations" I'll die on the hill that book of boba fett could have just been a boba fett movie and a mandorian movie released a month apart instead of a series.

It's hilarious how star wars thinks that solo is the reason why "spin offs" wouldn't work when really it was ep 8 that killed any hype for star wars movies. Spin offs can work just look at how successful rogue one was.

I mean, there's also the reason of the sequels... just let's not get into that debacle 😖 Otherwise, I agree 100% 👍

They wouldn't let him do it right the first time, so he decided to do it right on his own time.

Do you think there's a chance Disney will see his work for Kenobi and ask him to touch up the series? It's unlikely, but he _does_ work with them, and a revamped movie version of the show would so the story wonders.

​​@@erikanders3343 they wasted time, KK had 5 years to produce one movie since 2019 but all she did during that time is cancelling projects. Now they're forced to rush out a movie in 2 years because they wasted time. Same happened during Kenobi when they kept changing up the plot until the end. Why should they give them more time when they already had all time in the world? Obi-Wan Kenobi project was in development almost since the sale at least in 2015.

Of course not, that would imply that there’s a challenge in producing something more creative than the rubbish you put out, Disney.

The issue to me is that the Disney board wanted to get repaid for buying Lucas inc as quickly as possible so they pushed for big name producers and fast time frames over anything else. Not sure how you think a studio and productions work, but you clearly don't work in the industry. The best way to describe a movie production is a company is created with a single purpose of creating a film. It is given a certain amount of money and a date. Plus some other requirements and off it goes. The Studio is not involved in the day to day all the time an Kennedy certainly does not have the time for that.

Everybody complains that they don't like it, I've never heard anybody explain why. The fact that people are so impressed with cosmetic details and obsessed with canonical minutiae makes it seem a little trivial, for a bandwagon with such bandwidth.

Ben just knowing Leia? Plot armor. The third sister, one of the best examples of a waste of screen time in Star Wars history. Like, come on. So now there are valid excuses for two extremes on a spectrum, but I guess in-between - there's no excuse for that, it has to be Disney spitting directly into fans' faces! You ever think that maybe the point of avoiding Blue Mustafar is because it puts the focus entirely on the two characters? You guys act like artistic decisions are objective, or something. Yes hundreds of people not even making something half as good as 1 person on their own is an absolute joke they've probably got people running around yelling at them making them rush things for their PrOFiT mArGiN or something and then a guy who isn't being pressured constantly makes Something better isn't a surprise and then we have the Andor show and The Mandalorian which don't seem to have many half measures and rushed VFX if at all

agreed...obi-wan is my favorite character too and ewan portrays him so well. there were parts of the show that moved me to tears and parts that had me cringing. i just want disney to hire more fans with the passion like this guy has. why oh why does disney not utilize its best asset...the fans!!??

without the show there would be no edits. important thing to consider is much of what was changed was polish on a already good product.

@@jamesharden3timedpoy466 To each his own, honestly I enjoyed it and it provided some good closure. My Vader was always the terrifying Vader, the one you saw in the originals, the one in Rogue 1. I thought the entire Anakin story arch was terrible. The scripts needed a lot more editing. Perhaps that's the great tradition of star wars, its better after a lot of editing.
