This Keyboard Has a Touch Screen Knob?

This keyboard is wild. This is the Freya Ultra from Wuque and it's the latest and maybe greatest keyboard kit. The board comes in two variants, the Freya and Ultra variant. One has a macro / slider column for 389.99 to start and the other doesn't at 319.99 USD (before shipping and taxes). The website is a bit deceiving as you have to select the wired PCB for the price to go down.
Today I looked at the Freya Ultra, but I think I would have personally preferred the non ultra version. The slider looked a bit tacky to me, but it looks nicer with the macro column. I am just unsure if it's worth an additional 70 dollars.
The board features a GIANT tactile ring with a touch screen on the center of it. This board is VERY stylized and I think it's done very tastefully. Sometimes it's easier to get carried away here so I am glad they didn't. And yes it's a touch screen panel. Now, this is something that I love. I adore people trying new things in boards. But it should be noted, that this is not modern level of performance for a touch screen. It does lag a bit and is a bit slower, think of an older android watch. But it does work! To note, between the stream and now the touch screen has frozen two times which I have noted to Wuque and I had to reset the keyboard to get it to work again.
The mounting system here isn't my favourite. This is not my first rodeo with springs as mounts and I still don't love them. Acoustically, they have a slight ping to them if you decide to not use a lot of foam.

I actually will be doing a full write up for this in the next few days as well. I feel there is a lot more I want to say about the board that I feel better doing so in a written format. Overall, it's a lot of fun. Enjoy the video and my impressions!

I'm still so torn on jumping in the GB. I really like it, but I agree the sound just isn't what I'd like it to be. If I do, thinking a purple non slider version. Just wish they had an option to replace the outer ring of the knob. You can change out everything else, slider, bottom and top case, customized plates, etc. Why not the knob ring? I'd love copper or anodized silver all around.

I think this is a great board, good price, features, innovations etc. I just don't like that the knob always comes with a golden bezel. Would like to be able to choose its color.

The packaging is like 150% prettier than the keyboard. I think Wuque tried to fit so many things like it ended up looking cheap and tacky.

That spring mount is a disappointing detail in what could otherwise be almost perfect. Kind of sad that this is non-optional.

The touchscreen knob is nice but tbh I’m not a fan of the overall design, the knob clicks imo are kinda annoying. The slider is cool, but idk how useful that’d actually be for anything other than like video editing. That being said, a lot of the cost goes into the packaging, which’ll just sit in the closet

Honestly would have loved this without all the packaging extra. Never really cared for the unboxing experience and would rather save on a few dollars.

It's a good thing you can build this keyboard without the knob/screen thingy because that one honestly looks soooooo out of place and painfully ugly. The huge top and bottom bezel also don't go so well with the thinner bezels. Plus this type of 65% layout is just... Nah. Hard pass. What a weird keyboard. Still wishing that the screen trend would just end though not gonna lie. None of them look like they belong on a keyboard, not even Matrix Lab's.
