Our team was dispatched to a 2 vehicle accident, with rollover. While there were no serious injuries, both the KIA Sportage and the Chevrolet Malibu ended up smashed beyond repair!

How to start a case like this you need to have some spatial insight. Just doing something doesn't seem like a solution to me. Enjoyed seeing this one too.

That 2 ton snatch block is only rated for 1 ton when used for a change of direction.

The snatch block rating won't change...a 2 ton WLL snatch block is always going to be a 2 ton WLL snatch block. If you are using it as a redirection of line to move an object, you could be putting up to twice the force (or weight of the object being moved) on it depending on the angle of the line and other variables. In this recovery, I'd say we were within our WLL for the way we used the snatch block.
