Its only 1.5 weeks old so def not happy with the growth yet. I dont mind submitting though, I’m not expecting high ranking.

Great product! Just complain I have is the app and bluetooth , its trash sadly.

Thanks for the review. I need a new light and the LEDSTAR options look appealing. My only concern with smaller and somewhat obscure companies like this - what happens if they close up shop and the app disappears? Does that render the light useless?

What's the difference from the AQ-Z version? I saw you compared that one to chihiros.

Good review. What light would you recommend for the 40 Breeder, high tech setup for med/high demand plants?

LEDSTAR AQ J or Z series lights, WRGB2 90cm lights will all do the job nicely. Either of those lights will throw enough par down to the substrate to satisfy all your plants needs.

Thanks for the review! I think have the version 1 j series light. It’s a nice daylight color tone and grows all my plants well. The only downside is that I have not been able to find shades for this light yet. For that reason alone, I’d recommend the z series of the light. Because the z series and the j series are the same light just in different form factors, right? Edit: Seems like the shades are in stock finally. Ledstar J series light has really grown on me.

Yea, version 1 J and Z from what I understand is the same LEDs just diff designs. The V2 J is built diff with higher reds and green. Does you v1 J series have that shimmer effect too? I’ve never seen that much shimmer on a bar light thus far.

@@TankTastic My version 1 J light doesn’t have any noticeable shimmer. Pretty cool that the version 2 light has it. I thought only reef aquarium lights bothered with shimmer. Do you prefer the shimmer to the usual no shimmer planted tank lights?

Any updates on the shimmering? This light seems amazing but am planning to go with wrgbII to go with my rimmed aquarium. Is it possible to get shimmer with Chihiros, or exclusive to LEDSTAR AQ J? Thanks! New/old to the hobby. Love your vids!

The color temperature is different, the LEDSTAR runs on the cooler color spectrum and the WRGB is a bit warmer. I have grown amazing looking plants with both.

How do you think this compares to the Chihiros WRGB II Pro? Color and intensity wise. This looks like a good low cost option

I dont have the pro, but being that the pro is a higher intensity light, I would assume the wrgb2 pro would come out on top. But of course the cost of the pro is much higher. Tbh, I don’t think anyone needs something as strong as the Pro, unless you have an very tall tank that you need some power to penetrate.

Maybe, because at a price point of $450, I’m not sure if it’s attainable for most people. Thats almost twice the price of the regular wrgb2, and that light I’ve grown pretty much any plant and I’ve never used it pass 70-80 watts of power. Plus the pro looks pretty much like the original wrgb2, so I would say save that money.

@@TankTastic I agree, save that money. I would like to get the pro light, but sometimes I think it is not worth the money. I also do not see many wrgb pro reviews on KZfaq. I am between the wrgb2 or the Ledstar, and from what I heard the Chihiros light has better color. Looking forward to your next video : )

Depends chihiros for me is a bit warmer while Ledstar is cooler. Check out my light comparison between the two, I have a section where I compare the colors of each. Both are superb lights.

No, diff category same light. But the J 2 I have here is diff than the original Z.

@@roydaniel5642 I’ve used the version 1 Z and I love the light. The J I’ve used for less than a month and the plants are looking good so far. I’ll be doing an update video for it soon.
